Sorry I can't post actual images; links is the best I could do.
Kappa's Grand President badge is the all-diamond special award key (eighth one down on this page) with a golden circle dangle, attatched directly to the badge to distinguish her office. She wears a gold version of our new member pin (seventh one down on this page) as a guard. I got to see the current guard presented to Grand President Ann Stafford Truesdell at our National Convention in June, 2002. I very much like the symbolism of the new member pin as guard to the president's badge. It shows the link between every new member, at the beginning of her journey, and the Grand President, serving in Kappa's highest office. |
our national president came down to our initiation to present us with our charter last year, and i didn't notice anything different about her pin.. the only thing is that after 10 years of service, you get a white gold pin, as opposed to the standard gold, pearl , and diamond that every member has::)

http://www.creighton.edu/AlphaPhi/im...bol50yrpin.jpg The first fifty-year pins, silver circles with red stones, were presented at the 42nd Convention in 1958 to several alumnae who had given significant service to the Fraternity for fifty years or more. These pins are replicas of the pins presented to the six living founders at the Fraternity’s Fiftieth Anniversary Convention in 1922. |
The National President's badge for Sigma Kappa is a triangle, like a regular active's badge, but there are two or three rows of diamonds on the outside of it. It's gorgeous and huge! They get to keep the badge when they complete their term, too. I think the other National Officers get similar badges, but maybe not with so many diamonds.

There are only 3 Chi Omega Badges. Silver with pearls, Gold with pearls, and gold with diamonds. The national officers I have seen have bought the diamond pins (and the alumna tend to wear them as rings), but that is it.
I wish we could get white gold with diamonds! That would make a spectacular pin. |
All right, I'm going to try and post this picture I scanned...this was in our national magazine (the Adelphean) for the Winter 2003 issue. There's an entire article about the evolution of our badge and also Badge ettiquette (some of which you'll see on the scanned page). I love our president's badge!!!
My Photo Album Click on either ADPi President's Badge for the full page or ADPi 2 for a cropped look at the badge. Edited to add: Go to the Scanned Images album...that's the only way anyone can see the images |

If I am to understand this correctly, someone painted over the old position and then painted her badge in a new spot? When you say moved back it sounds as though her badge was literally pinned to the canvas. |

Traditionally in Alpha Sigma Phi, the Grand Senior President wears the actual badge worn by founder Louis Manigault. It was considered lost until 1970, when descendants of the Manigault family gave the founder's badge to the Fraternity. Since then, it has been worn by succeeding GSP's.
