I suppose it all depends on your school, region or personal attitude.

I'm a black female and dated whites and asians during college. My sisters dated guys of all races and took whomever to formals and such. I don't remember it ever being an issue either way.

I met parents of guys I dated.
Sorry I can't totally relate. Sorry you feel this way, but do you really want to hang with people who don't respect you for you?

You sound like a sweet guy David. I'm sure there may be a lot of people that can relate to your position. Especially those that are in Texas or the South or have families that aren't as "enlightened" or what have you. I'm not one of those people though. My school and chapter were/are half Asian. Almost everyone I know has at least openly expressed an attraction to an opposite race. The vast majority of my sisters paid for the sorority themselves so why should mommy/daddy care who they take to a formal.

All I can offer is if anyone gives you crap about the fraternity you joined not being predominantly black/multiracial just tell them that the NPHC/multicultural group aren't for everyone and the IFC groups aren't for everyone but TKE was right for you. If a girl is giving you a BS excuse why she can't take you to a date party, screw her. (Anyway you like. ;)) Start taking some Asian/Hispanic/Black girls to your formal.

Have fun. Enjoy college. Party hard. Study your ass off. :D

Hey guys I just wanted to say thanks for all you support(and even critisism from some of you) when i first posted I thought most people here would even respond to my post because the subject is kind of touchy for some people but you guy(and girls) :)
have been so great about everything I cannot thanks you guys enough:)
