My stepsister will be going to ASU in the fall and she's thinking about rushing. I'm excited to see these ASU threads so I can tell her a little about greek life there.

Yay for Delta Zeta!! I'm so excited that we'll be colonizing there and Wake Forest. Good luck to all of the ASU sororities! I hope everyone builds up their numbers.

As for what SigKapSundevil said about DZ's....wow. :( That's really sad.

WOOHOO! I love hearing about colonizations. They're one of my favorite parts of Greek life. Kappa'll be colonizing at Harvard in the fall, and I'm tempted to get a plane ticket just to go help out. Exciting for DZ!

Good luck to Delta Zeta!

It seems like KDs recruitment was VERY successful there, and judging from several of the ASU collegians that I met last week at our convention, they got a lot of quality girls.

My only hope is that there are enough girls interested to build up both KD and DZ to be viable, strong chapters.

Yea! So glad to see DZ going in at ASU!

Is it just me or do we seem to be in "colonization mode" these days?

Someone told me this past weekend that DZ has decided to concentrate on schools with large enrollment figures rather than smaller schools for the moment. Does anyone know if there is truth to that?

Anyway, woo hoo! :p

DZ at ASU

That's great and all but we will now have 13 panhellenic sororities and what like 4 IFC fraternities. EEkkk! I don't like the sound of that. I mean I love girls...but come on Mike Najor I need some boys up in here!!! <----(Greek Advisor hehe)

But since my best friend from CO is a DZ I will approve. By the way...I don't know why SigKapSundevil would be upset, they are not a recognized chpater at ASU anoymore after being terminated close to two years ago for alcohol consumption in their courtyard. So I am confused why she would be making a fuss.

wrong

4?? Theres more like 6...We really do need more fraternities on campus.

ASUADPi 07-05-2003 09:02 PM

I think it is awesome news that DZ is coming to ASU. I also understand why some people are worried about more influx of sororities when some aren't make quota. I think you have to look at the big picture though and see that there are chapters making quota. I do know that we've made quota for I believe the last two years in fall rush, that usually we can't participate in spring rush. (Now my information is purely from an alumna standpoint).
But I also know that roughly 600+ girls go through fall rush and I personally believe the more chapters readily available will give the rushees more options of finding the chapter for them.
Congrats to DZ.

Alpha Delta Pi

P.S. We do seriously need our frats back on campus.

absolutuscchick 07-10-2003 05:15 PM

There are only six frats at ASU??!!!! Lord almighty, what a change....that is ridiculous!!!!! Seriously....I think there should be atleast (ATLEAST!) the same number as sororities....why the shortage??!!

The_Nash 07-10-2003 06:08 PM

really

There is more like 10 or 12, but only like 6 with houses.

Why so few with houses? I know they're expensive and all but still...if I was in charge of greek life, I would be mad pushing for more fraternities on campus!!
