I can't wait either! Unfortunately I'll be at camp for the summer (well, not unfortunately, I LOVE my camp and I love being a counselor!), so I won't really have any time to read it - two hour breaks a day, used for the very vital showering and sleeping. I still might get a copy, and try to read it, but I won't be able to read it all within three days like I would if I were just at home.

29 days, 23 hours, 57 minutes...
And woohoo, my bday is June 24th, so i'm right around there too!! Kitso KS 361 times i'm gonna read this book when it comes out :P |
One of our sons turns 11 on June 21. Of course, the book would make a perfect gift for him but I told him he can unwrap it and then I'll grab it and run off with it-WAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAA.
(Siigghhh.) I guess we really need 2 copies in this house. |
Poor kids i hope you make it. I seemed to have met more people my age who like this series this year in college, especially when you get the nickname Potter, I think you know why.

Leave it to sherbertlemons to start the thread :D
If any of you are in New York, New Jersey, or Connecticut, you should know that there's going to be a Harry Potter meetup on June 20. Actually, there are going to be meetups all over the country, and you can subscribe to the update site at http://www.muari.org and pick your local meeting spot in about 10 days. Scholastic is buying out the big lightup billboard in Times Square at 12:01 am on June 21, and they'll run a ad for OotP. I am going to be there doing the happy dance, then I'm going to head off to the nearest bookstore to buy my copy, unless I get picked to review it for Bookreporter, in which case I'll already have a copy (oh, the perks of my job!). For those who can't wait, there's always fanfiction... |

KappaStargirl- I thought I had heard somewhere that reveiwers weren't getting advance copies of this one? Maybe I'm wrong- if I am you'll definitely receive my envy! *turns green* |

So how delayed would that make the publication of the review? I guess most publications would scramble to get a reveiw published before everyone in the nation has read it, right? So, just out of curiosity, if you were chosen to be the reveiwer, what sort of time frame do you think you'd be looking at for your deadline? When do you think they'd be looking at to publish the review? (Oh, and it's totally cool if you have no idea. As a writer, I can't imagine you'd be that terribly familiar with the whole process, but I just thought I'd throw it out there and see if you could make some sort of guess.)
And June 18 is still three less days of torture. :p |
KappaStar girl, I'm so jealous of your job. I love to read (even books besides HP ;) ) and I like writing, too. Don't know if I'd be all that good at critique. But I'm still jealous. :p

Did anyone else pre-order Goblet of Fire from Barnes and Noble? I just received an e mail from them telling me that my book will be delivered on Saturday, June 21st. Woo Hoo!
The only thing is it said someone MUST be home to sign for it. |
