Oh definately get the Clean & Clear Instant Oil-Obsorbing Sheets! I use foundation that is oil free - but after being in that heat I wonder if there isnt lard in my makeup lol!
|
well from a florida chick
I didn't realize the extent I would sweat even on my face. I'd bring coffee filters in that *little* purse and peppermints, but your ro chi's might be prepared with that stuff..
Also- definately let us have the whole story pretty please? |
I'd say bring a purse if you can leave it outside. Our rho chis watched our purses while we were inside, and it was nice to have things to do touch ups (brush, make-up, etc.)
|
ITA, bring a small purse with only essentials (powder, lipstick/gloss, mirror, breathmints, etc)
|
Heh...the breathmint thing cracks me up because that's one of the things that really sticks out in my mind from recruitment...our Rho Gammas asking us over and over again if we wanted mints...seriously, before we went to each house, every girl got a mint!

Potential New Members are not allowed to carry their purses with them to events. We have a special room where they are stored and the Greek Advisor or a Panhellenic E-board Member is in there at all times. The Rho Gammas have a basket filled with stuff for all situations. They have tampons, mints, coffee filters, a tub of lip gloss, nail files, and whatever else you can think of. Between the events, if anyone needs anything they just see a Rho Gamma. In the event that there is an emergency, there Rho Gamma will hold onto there cell phone for them, in case something happens.

Most likely, your Recruitment Guide will tell you the policy on purses. If not, ask her.
At my school each Rho Chi carries a big honking purse with everyone's stuff and some extras (breath mints, lip balm, etc) that some people forget. |
I would also consider bringing a small bottle of water! Your mouth can get dry w/ all the talking and I never wanted to glup down the water you get at the parties although I felt like doing it!
:) |
Now that cracks me up! LOL
I have this vision of Rho Gamma walking around milling PNMs saying, "Coffee, Tea, tampons . . . get your cofee, tean and tampons right over her . . ." :p And a little sign on their trays saying tips are appreciated :). Quote:

? about Rho Chis during rush
Since I rushed way back when during COB and didn't have a Rho Chi, what exactly do the Rho Chis do during the parties? Wait outside on the steps? Read magazine? Time the events? Do they get to eat? What if it is raining? Can them come inside and eat, too? Do they talk to the other sisters or have to hang out alone?

When I was a rho chi, we just hung out outside of the parties. Some people brought work to do or food to eat, others just sat around and chatted.
|
When I was a Rho Chi, we just went home during the parties and met outside of the house 5 min. before the party was to end.
|
The rho chi's at my school all had their huge bags of things which had magazines, and school work in them and they always said they had fun when we were all inside the parties. At one event it did rain and no they were not allowed in. They said they stood under the roof kind of and went into the front of the building I believe, but they weren't wet. They were a bunch of great spirited girls!
|
Wow...I think our Rho Gammas were allowed in the houses...I usually saw them hanging out in the lobby/entryway areas, chatting with each other (each group had two) or with girls in the house who weren't talking to pnm's...not sure if they were around during pref, I didn't really notice!
