Aww, that's really sweet. Rarely does a guy open a door for me. I haven't been asked out in forever...of course, I've had a real jerk of a boyfriend for awhile but he's gone now. He never once offered to pay for my half, and a lot of times expected me to pay all of it. You should train more guys to have manners, ktsnake. It might be a nice surprise for us gals.[

I'm not looking for an expensive date just the fact of being asked out for a evening. Yes, college is a very casual place and with people hooking up on a regular and casual basis. I guess the appeal of asking out girls for dates has been lost.

I'm a lady and I expect to be treated like one so, if a guy is expecting something upon either going on a date or meeting me at a bar is not getting anything.

I guess I'll get more dates after college.

Thanks Everyone for responding

I know a few people who dated locals. They were grown men with jobs and were more focused on relationships than just hooking up. Maybe you can meet a nice local man. I'm not sure what your school is like, but there must be a few nice places off campus where you can meet a man. Museums, bars, church, restaurants are all places that come to mind. :)

Come down to Central Oklahoma. The Sigma Nu's here know how to treat a lady.

In regards to the girl that told me the truth I would have appreciated the truth before she accepted the date. It would be one thing if I had made an inappropriate advance but she just slipped it into casual dinner conversation.
