Since I hit the gym 6 days a week, do yoga and pilates, am also a vegetarian that doesn't eat fried food or refined sugar, doesn't drink soda or alchohol, and am still overweight anyway... Am I allowed to cry about it? And who are you to say whether or not someone can be upset about something whether it was a choice in their control or not? |
Well as someone with 5 years training coaching experience I would say you are doing something wrong and if you kept records I could probably tell you what it is lol.
As a male I don't care if you cry or not as long as I don't have to hear it :) Quote:

It's when I ate like a normal college kid that I got fat. |
Vegan living can be tough for the fitness oriented because it usually has lower protein and fat and more carbs.
Honestly, Carbs make you fat. But take 5 minutes every day and write down what you eat, what time you eat it, the calorie breakdown and the amount of protein/fat/carbs. That will put you way ahead of the game. Also try and include how many hours sleep a night and any training. Quote:

And one thing I don't quite understand. Obviously you are very upset about things said, whether intentionally malicious or not, on the other thread (and understandably so). I definitely don't blame you for being upset about those things, because I even said myself that some of things people are saying on there are getting way out of hand. So what I don't get is why you would then come on this thread and make yourself even more upset. I don't think anyone is trying to offend anyone, at least I know I'm not. But if these are things that you are going to find offensive, why read them? Because honestly what I think or what anyone else thinks really doesn't matter. The only thing that matters is how you feel about yourself, so don't let me or anyone else get you down! :) |
SSS1365 :
Amen sister! I agree with you and pretty much everything you have posted. My favorite motto is "Don't talk about it....BE about it!" I think this can apply to everything in life! :p Jadey |
SSS:I think the reason why people you know are complaining to you about it because they might wantsome advice & are afraid to ask for it. They might feel uncomfortable with saying "I don't like my body. Yours is great. Any advice?" Personally, I'm a very proud person and have trouble asking for any help, and I imagine asking for health/diet/exercise advice might be intimidating for many folk. So when you get annoyed the people are complaining to you, simply say, "What can I do for you?" That will shock them! And if they are complaining at you, well, ignore them. You like your body, know that you eat healthy and exercise. Let them think what they want.

Oh, see, now this thread didn't upset me at all. Some of the stuff in it made me chuckle, but I'll keep the sarcasm to a minmum here.
My comment in the post above was complete sarcasm, being that you don't know the circumstances into what would make that particular person fat, so who are you to say whether or not they are justified in crying about it? I'm not HUGE. I'm not thin either. I'll just put myself in the general "overweight" category. I'm a person that doesn't CARE what other people think in the literal sense. I don't let people's opinions of me affect my life and how I feel about myself. However, I do think it's high time this world grew up and stopped making immature and prejudicial comments like "fat people are ugly" and screaming "fat ass" at people out their car window. Those things don't hurt my feelings, but they're annoying as shit and speak volumes about the directions humanity is taking in the modern world. I'm a realist. I know that not all people are attracted to fat. Hell, I'm not attracted to fat guys. I don't expect all men to be attracted to me. But I do expect common courtesy and to be treated like a human being. It's a sad sad day in this world when people can be beautiful if they're black, white, straight, gay, male or female, but as long as they're thin. I have no problem with thin people at all. I don't think of you as lesser than me (except in that literal poundage sense), and I sure as hell don't hate you because you're thin. I wouldn't be living the way I do and getting thinner myself if I did. I'm not a person that bashes on thin girls, although I do know many that do. The thing is, my lifestyle is probably healthier than most of the thin people I know. But some of those judgemental assholes will still look at me and think : lazy twinkie eater. That's life, I guess. Deal with it. |
