Thank you all for your replies. Actually, I was just asking to find out what it was like for all of you, not to know if I, personally, could join. I joined AST 6 years ago (where did that time go?), so I know what it is like in my own sorority. I was just curious because I saw so many references to god. Anyhow, thank you all for taking the time to reply.

My chapter has Protestants, Catholics, Jews, Hindus, Buddhists, and a couple sisters dable in Paganism. I've discussed with several of them before whether the relgious overtones are problem. For the most part they told me that they do feel uncomfortable about it at times. But they still get meaning from it. They also still love and appreciate it because it meant enough to our founders to include it. |
I would never (knowingly) admit a non-christian into my chapter for one very simple reason. It would make that person a liar on an almost regular basis. I'm not just talking "wouldn't enjoy the ritual", but a flat out liar. I've been asked by Delta wannabes about this very thing (because they know that I'm very active in my church and the religous community). I don't particulary care if you are a particular denomination, but I would HAVE to wonder about someone who would want to be a Delta at the risk of saying you believe something that you don't. What is it that you REALLY want to do?

Hello,
I'm a Seventh-Day Adventist interested in the DST organization. Observing some of the rushes in the past, I've noticed that most of the them took place on Friday nights or Saturdays, which in my religion Friday sunset to Saturday sunset is the Sabbath. Between these hours, that is my time of worship. Would DST be considerate of my religious practice? I would greatly appreciate your advice. Quote:
