Mizzou seems to have a pretty strong greek system. About 25% of our undergrad population of around 25,000 people are Greek. We have 14 sororities, 25 or so fraternities, and to be totally honest I am not sure how many NPHC groups. :o
For the most part you either love greek life here or dislike it, at least that the way it seems to me. AXJules can probably explain it better than I can. :D

Cornell University has a very strong greek life. We have 13 NPC sororities, 38 IFC fraternities, and 14 MGLC houses. We even have some houses that are currently refounding on campus, so we are soon to be even bigger!

LOL, considering that AGD has only been at SF State for 12 years it would have been hard for us to get total for the last 15. ;) I'm just kidding, I know what you meant.

I'm just glad that our Panhellenic is still working together. Things have vastly improved there since I rushed. We still have a lot to work on, though!

Mizzou is a pretty good place to be Greek. Only problems- we're a dry campus, and the year BEFORE I got here Greektown was still wet. Apparently our WET Greek stories are pretty legendary.....Also, the student paper has a serious vendetta against greeeks, and that kinda sucks...and there are no Latino GLO's that fully participate in the same activities that IFC and Panhel do. Not to mention NPHC- they're very active on campus, but for some reason traditionally "minority" groups aren' t included in Greek festivities. I just wish we were a more cohesive group.

Our Alpha chapter is back at Cornell!!!! Ya'll ain't ready!!! The George Washington University is pretty pro greek. The administration wants to get the greek population up to 25%.

ME TOO!!!! I think it would be SO fun to get involved with these groups and do things like homecoming and Greek Week with them!! :) And I also wish our campus was still wet, that'd be so fun. :D

It's big at the University of Oklahoma. I forget how many IFC frats we have, but we have 12 NPC sororities and they're huge!!! Quota is almost up to 90 here. If you account for all the GLO's (including the multicultural frats and soror's), I would say that more than 33% of the population here is greek. I know that 25% of women here belong to a NPC sorority.

Indiana University has a pretty strong greek system, despite the # of groups that we have lost in the last 3 years.

We have approximately 23 IFC (I say aprox. because so many groups re found each year, its hard to keep count) and we have 19 NPC sororities all of which are pretty big.

Also, we have 7 members of the Divine 9 (we lost Omega Psi Phi in the mid 90s and I think...but I'm not certain that we just lost Sigma Gamma Rho in the last 3 semesters, I havent seen or heard a peep from them in a while.)

We also have an Asian sorority and an Asian fraternity, as well as a Latino fraternity and 2 Latino sororities.

As diverse as IU is, we do not have any Multicultural fraternities or sororities. Maybe that's just a matter of initiative. But then again, our fraternities and even our sororities (IFC and NPC) are getting pretty diverse.

IU does not have local fraternities or sororities.

I think that only 20% of the school here is greek. But we do have 38,000 students. :D

Nebraska doesn't have any huge, attention grabbing participation numbers...just about 17% of the campus is greek.

However, I think we are one of the strongest Greek systems in the country based on the excellence of most chapters.
This past summer the Nebraska Chapters of Gamma Phi Beta, Chi Omega, Alpha Phi, Kappa Alpha Theta, Beta Theta Pi, Sigma Nu, and Acacia all received their organization's highest award possible for a chapter. I also know that the chapters of Alpha Tau Omega and Delta Tau Delta are pretty highly decorated chapters among their international organizations, but I'm unsure of the awards they have received.

Having such high achievement by so many groups really raises the bar for what is being done by the entire greek community.

Such awards may not make Nebraska the best campus for Greeks, and there seems to be a vendetta against Greeks by the campus newspaper, despite the fact that I've met very few non-greek students who are opposed to the greek system.
