I really enjoyed the show this year. What was up with all the nude colored dresses, though? They were beautiful, but the color wasn't flattering on most.

I thought Julianne Moore looked absolutely stunning.

Itwas really such a thrill to see Olivia DeHavilland up on stage. She really is still beautiful. And Jennifer jones? I didn't even know she was still alive. Luise Rainier, as weel. I think that was my favorite part of the show.

I think that she looked stunning, however, I think she could have worn a much more flattering dress!!

Word. Diane Lane is absolutely beautiful, but tonight, she just looked... beige.

the celebrities said that they are choosing nude colors out of respect for the war. they wanted to stay away from bright vibrant colors.
i thought nicole kidman looked absolutely incredible. my jaw dropped.

OK, steve martin said it perfectly in the beginning of the show when he said "So much for all the glitz!". The stars were all dressed to the nines...so much for whatever they said they were going to wear, eh?

Renee Zellwigger looked FABULOUS in the red!!! And so did Nicole Kidman. Julianne Moore is stunning, but that dress was awful, as was Jennifer Garner's. She looked like a sausage stuffed in a too small casing!! And she's not fat!!! Get a new stylist honey. As for J Lo, take some speaking lessons!! And props to Eminem!!! :) All in all, not a thrilling show....

I think it was toned down a tiny bit. Especially the expensive jewelry they usually wore. I didn't see many necklaces, saw a few elaborate earrings, etc.

I thought they were doing away with the red carpet though?

yeah, I heard that too. Guess not. Joan Rivers must have had her tear ducts put back in so she could cry about it. Isn't that like, her ONLY job? She bugs.

I thought the show was good. I liked the color of Juliane Moore's dress but not all the ruffles down the front.

Oh! And when Chris Cooper cried when thanking his wife... aww!

Michael Moore - not even going to go there.

Adrian Brody - can you believe thats the same guy from Son Of Sam? He was so cute with his mohawk in that movie!

And Renee. Honey, get yourself some Popeye's! That dress was gorgeous but did anyone else notice how the straps LITERALLY hung from bones in her shoulders? Bulemia kills, people. I feel like her life story is going to be a Lifetime afterschool special in 20 years.

My .02

It's crazy that Scorcese STILL hasn't won an Oscar. I was sure he would this year, especially with the fact that Polanski has already won one. The Academy has a history of giving Oscars to people for not-so-great performances because they've screwed them before (see Julia Roberts for "Erin Brockovich" after she should have won for "Pretty Woman," or Russell Crowe for "Gladiator" after he should have won for "The Insider."), so I'm confused why Scorcese didn't get one.

Adrian Brody probably deserved to win - from what I've heard, his performance was incredible, and it's good to see an underdog win. I would have liked to see Daniel Day Lewis win, but he's got one already so might as well spread the wealth.

My Oscar Thoughts

-Michael Moore wrong time, wrong place. Buy a one way ticket to France! How ironic was it that "Twin Towers" one the Short Story Documentary Oscar right after that. Steve martin did a great job covering up.

-Loved seeing all the past Oscar winners on the stage. What a great mix of winners!!! They were all very beautiful!!!

-Julie Andrews is so awesome! Great standing ovation! THE HILLS ARE ALIVE....:D

-What a shock that Adrian Brody won! Everyone had been picking Jack Nicholson to win! Then, what a speech he gave!!! WOW!!! He was so eloquent!

-Eminem wins an Oscar that Barbara Streisand announces. (I'm speechless on this one!)

I agree 150%...Scorcese was robbed..Gangs of New York was a wonderfully and incredibly well done film..while I don't doubt that The Pianist was extraordinary as well.. Scorcese really deserved to win.. Did GONY even win a single oscar?

I was also really shocked the John C. Reilly didn't win for best supporting actor..C'mon now..he was in THREE out of the FIVE movies nominated for best film..what does that tell you..Chris Cooper was good in adaptation, but I think that John C. Reilly deserved it more..

Surprisingly (and appropriately) he recieved boos and catcalls for his idiotic speech.

Wrong time, wrong place.

It was the same speech he gave at the IFP Independent Spirit Awards the previous night! Idiot! At least come up with a new line! I agree, everything was going fine....until he opens his yap!
