Eric was offered and signed his bid. He will go through the NM ceremony on Friday. (I used the roll eyes thign above because I cant say soemoen will get a bid, even if we know they will get one. rules you see...) Anyway, I am really hyped to have another Mills (not his real last name) in the chapter. So cool. Eric is just liek his brother too. its funny.

Hey Lifesaver,

Congratulations.

One of the chapters I advised had a similar situation where the younger brother of a guy who still has the highest GPA in chapter history, was student trustee on the unviersity board, etc.'s younger brother was coming to compus. They really rolled out the red carpet -- but he not only didn't accept a bid -- he ended up transfering to a different school. Bummer.

Glad things worked out for you guys.

I can sympathize with legacies; all through High School I hated living in my brother’s shadow. It was a big part of why I quit soccer and I am not sure what I would have done if I had come into U of H’s Greek System as a legacy. I am never really surprised by a legacies hesitance. Congrats to Eric and your chapter.

On the topic of being a legacy - I'm a ZTA legacy, my mom came to my initiation which was VERY special for me (I cried the entire time). Also, both my father and my older brother are Sigma Nu's. I guess you could say greek life kinda runs in our family. (My little brother had wanted to be greek, but the greek system at VMI - Virginia Military Institue - has been abolished, too bad - he would have made a great addition to the greek system).

There is a lady who works for National Headquarters who is an alum from Georgetown College in Kentucky and she comes to my chapter a lot. I had never heard of that school until I met her. She is really cool so I am sure your grandma is too, hehe! :)
