Chicago

While I do have to agree that Chicago is the BEST city to have a formal at, I is SSOOOOOOOOOO expensive. My sorority has trouble every Spring, we are in Chicago, and we try to go to the suburbs just so we do not have to pay as much. It is even worse in the spring because it is wedding season so everything cost 2x's what it normally would and it is booked. But if you do have it here there are a million things to do and depending on the day there are some free things that you can do while you are here. also if you want any suggestions on where to have or help planning anything let me know, we have a file on places, transportation, everything.
Good Luck

Kev, thanks for the suggestion. I put you in for a referral.

sdidavide, what suburbs do you have your formals in?

I take frequent weekend trips to Chicago and have stayed in many 4-star hotels downtown. They're usually pretty reasonably priced. Swissotel, Hilton on Michigan, and Sheraton are among my favorites. If we do end up downtown I'm interested in the W.

Id tend to think someone that takes frequent wekkend trips to Chicago while staying in boomin' places would have no problem throwing down 5 bills for a formal!?!?!

Racine, Wisconsin, by far the coolest place to have a formal :)

I don't have a problem throwing down that much when I know where it's going. It was sketchy :o
