Last Saturday we had our first official Alumnae Dinner. We had 22 sisters show up that spanned over 12 years!!!

That is wonderful! I wish we could get that many.........

We did a happy hour with a fraternity alumni association, and we had a great turnout, from both groups. It was a lot of fun, and those who have significant others, they didn't care. Meeting new people is lots of fun!!

Our 4th Annual Alumnae Association Dinner is coming up in January and I've already sent out "save the date" invites. So far we have 13 alumnae that will be there. :) Afterwards we are trying to put together an "old school" party at a local bar that we used to hang out at and invite everyone from back in the day. Should be a good time! :)

That Sounds excellent for a Ladies Night OUT!:D

We Do a Monthly Alum Gathering at a Resturant which is a Bar. We just sit, have a few Libations and order Pizza or Burgers!

We always say, OKAY, We are not going to Talk about The Chapter! Well, We all do as that is the Common Thread among all of us!

Just Think? If it wasnt for Your Affiliation, You and They would never Have The Pleasure of being there or knowing each other!

We do a year end chapter meeting, followed by a gift snatch. Then we open the doors to other nearby chapters [grad and undergrad] and significant others, and interests, and eat - drink - and make merry!:D :D

on the 15th of each month the Chicago ADPi alum association has happy hour...because ADPi was founded on May 15th 1851.

also there are other various events but that one is on going

Hey all,

I'm in the process of forming an alumni association for my chapter, and this thread has a lot of good ideas! I really like the care package-making event.

I'm still in the planning stages, but my first event is an alumni brunch where we'll all catch up with each other, and then discuss plans for the group.

Our 4th Annual Alumnae Association Dinner turned out pretty good. We had 26 sisters show up! :D

We have a newer Alumnae Association, and the younger alumnae are mostly in charge. Each month, we have:

-Happy Hour, during the first week of the month
-Meeting, held at Panera Bread (free!), 2nd Sunday of the month
-Philanthropy event (so far, it's been mostly serving dinner at Ronald McDonald House, making gingerbread houses with the kids there, and holding a shower for RMH.)
-One event for and/or with the local Chapter (help with the suite, rush, books, etiquette, tailgate parties at the football games, Finals Feed, Founders Day Brunch next month, etc)

I have to admit, I'm impressed with them. If I didn't know any better, I'd swear that they had a check list, and were just checking off what to do next!

If you'd be willing to share a copy of your survey I'd appreciate it! PM me if you still have it (I know it's been a while).

Melanie, you've been a tremendous help! Our group is pretty young; as a matter of fact, at 34, I think I'm one of the oldest members -- if not the oldest -- in the chapter. While a few traditional events might be fun (I'm thinking garden party/teas and that sort of thing), I definitely need suggestions that would appeal to a younger group of people.

Thanks for the suggestion about finding out what the members are interested in. I'm going to design an online survey that the members can complete, and that'll give me a good idea of what things people are interested in. It's hard to be "the new girl" and know exactly what people are into.

Thanks again!

While our Alumni Association holds an auction at least once a year, it is always at a Fraternity event.

But if you have enough members, maybe an auction where everyone brings items and auctions them off for fun and mone

Just a thought.:) y
