never really used the word tipsy.
I've used sh*tfaced, smashed, drunk, really good buzz or once i said I'm completely f*cked up.

I forgot one: F*cking Tore Up!!!

We also say "got a good buzz", smashed, gone...

I think i use tipsy to describe when i'm a bit buzzed, but i've also lost a bit of my balance....I am not drunk though and I'm not falling all over the place, if i'm drunk, i'll say i'm drunk...
However, i've always been careful about my alcohol consumption....I wouldn't even drink underage, even when i had the opportunity...
and it still doesn't do too much for me.

This is not stereotyoing, but...

I've noticed the more Southern you are, the more likely you say "tipsy". All my roommates are from this BFE town in Tennessee and they say "I'm a little tipsy" when they can barely walk.

Every girl I have met from the north have say "I'm f***ing trashed" or "I'm sh*t faced" without a hesitation.....it's quite liberating:)

I like to say that "I'm sloshed" I guess I'm the only one:)

I am guilty of saying tipsy, so KDatUTC, you may be onto something.

I also say I am "warm," or "nice" lol. Sounds better, I dunno, lol.

When I first meet people when I am drunk, I will tell them I am "intoxicated," trying to impress them with my expansive vocabulary, lol.

Depends on my level of drunkeness on whether I even have to tell someone this or not, lol. Sometimes it's pretty obvious.

depending on how much i've had i will either tell everyone i'm drunk (very), intoxicated (moderately/moving towards very) or buzzing. i don't use tipsy that often, but i have been known to say it occasionally

Poured into a cab
Carried home

I usually stop at buzzed. :)

The sad thing is, when most people describe their Sat. nite it's always "so and so was totally 8 up when...."
