Symphony of Alpha Chi Omega
To see beauty even in the common things of life; To shed the light of love and friendship round me; To keep my life in tune with the world that I shall make no discords in the harmony of life; To strike on the lyre of the universe only notes of happiness, of joy, of peace; To appreciate every little service rendered; To see and appreciate all that is noble in another, be her badge what it may, and to let my lyre send for the chords of love, unselfishness sincerity. This is to be my symphony. Written by Celia McClure, Delta Chapter Adopted in 1914 |

Pi Kappa Phi's Student Creed
The Student Creed
I believe that the ideal chapter is made up of men Who are bound together in a common loyalty which transcends any personal selfishness. Who realize that membership means personal responsibility in bearing their share of the financial burden of the chapter and the national organization. Who bring credit to the fraternity by striving to attain the highest possible standards of scholarship. Who safeguard the reputation of their chapter by keeping careful watch over their personal conduct. Who uphold faithfully the traditions and activities of their college. Who prepare themselves diligently to shoulder their full responsibility as citizens. I Believe that my chapter can become an ideal chapter, and I shall do my share to make it so. --------------- My chapter also has its own mission statement: Pi Kappa Phi - Zeta Gamma Chapter A union of men who work for, The betterment of themselves, each other and the Chapter, Through: Brotherhood, Self Sacrifice, and Self Actualization In the hopes that it will benefit future members as it has past and present. |
The Chi Omega Symphony
To live constantly above snobbery of word or deed; to place scholarship before social obligations and character before appereances; to be, in the best sense, democratic rather than 'exclusive', and lovable rather than 'popular'; to work earnestly, to speak kindly, to act sincerely, to choose thoughtfully that course which occasion and conscience demand; to be womanly always; to be discouraged never; in a word, to be loyal under any and all circumstances to my Fraternity and her highest teachings and to have her welfare ever at heart that she may be a symphony of high purpose and helpfulness in which there is no discordant note. Ethel Switzer Howard. Xi. 1909 Ethel wrote this on the eve of her initiation, and it still holds true to me today. |
We have a creed and a purpose, which all Alpha Phi's cherish:
Alpha Phi Creed I believe in my Fraternity. I believe in the friendships formed in the springtime of my youth. I believe in its high ideals which lift me up beyond myself. I believe in its earnest drive for good scholarship, moral character, and genuine culture. I believe in it as a shrine of international sisterhood wherein I may find love and loyalty, sympathy and understanding inspiration and opportunity. I believe in it as a creator of good citizenship, helping me to do my work well, to live in harmony with others, and to serve my country and to trust in God. I believe in my Fraternity. I believe in Alpha Phi. - Annette Holt Hitchcock, Pi 1912 Alpha Phi Purpose The objects of our Fraternity are the promotion of growth in character, unity of feeling, sisterly affection and social communion among our members. In all that we do, we try to obey God's principles of justice and right. We have banded ourselves together to improve our minds and hearts, and we seek to aid each other through a constant watchcare always given in love. We believe ourselves to be sincere searchers for truth. We seek the highest ideal of womanhood, and we try to gain this ideal by cultivating not only the power and passion for seeking intellectual development but, also, the spirit of love and charity. And we who are thus united are under a solemn pledge to lend a helping hand to one another. |

Creed of Alpha Sigma Alpha
To fill my days with satisfying activity,
To find dominant beauty in art, literature, nature, and friendships, To know the peace and serenity of a divine faith, To love life and joyously live each day to its ultimate good, This is my creed in Alpha Sigma Alpha. |
I am surprised to see that one of my sisters has not posted yet. ;) So, I will do it. I love our Creed, and what it stands for...
The Creed of Zeta Tau Alpha To realize that within our grasp, in Zeta Tau Alpha, lies the opportunity to learn those things which will ever enrich and ennoble our lives; to be true to ourselves, to those within and without our circle; to think in terms of all mankind and our service in the world; to be steadfast, strong, and clean of heart and mind, remembering that since the thought is father to the deed, only that which we would have manifested in our experience should be entertained in thought; to find satisfaction in being, rather than seeming, thus strengthening in us the higher qualities of the spirit; to prepare for service and learn the nobility of serving, thereby earning the right to be served; to seek understanding that we might gain true wisdom; to look for the good in everyone; to see beauty, with its enriching influence; to be humble in success, and without bitterness in defeat; to have the welfare and harmony of the Fraternity at heart, striving ever to make our lives a symphony of high ideals, devotion to the right, the good, and the true, without a discordant note; remembering always that the foundation precept of Zeta Tau Alpha was love, "the greatest of all things." The Mission Statement of Kappa Sigma: The Ideals we Pursue Determine who we are and what we will become |
lambda chi alpha creed
We believe in Lambda Chi Alpha and its traditions, principles, and ideals. The crescent is our symbol; pure, high, and ever growing. And the cross is our guide; denoting service, sacrifice, and even suffering and humilation before the world, bravely endured if need be, in following that ideal.
May we have faith in Lambda Chi Alpha and passion for its welfare. May we have hope for the future of Lambda Chi Alpha and strength to fight for its teachings. May we have pure hearts, that we may approach the ideal of perfect brotherly love. |
AMEN!!!!!!!:)
