It all comes back to Vir Quisque Vir.

I do not have any gay brothers.

I do not have any bisexual brothers.

I do not even have heterosexual brothers.

For that matter, I don't have caucasian, latino, African-American, or any other **-American Brothers.

I have only BROTHERS in the bonds of Lambda Chi Alpha. Period. That is what I pledged my oath and faith to.

VERY well put. You put a face/race/preference to the situation to remove the face/race/preference from the equation.

Simple but brilliant.

S S, KUDDOS to You!!!!!

What a way to put it!

I wonder if that could be put into the C & C?

I know in many cases, we as LXA and many other Greeks Go out of our way to point out this very thing!

It could never have been said any better!

In the C & C? I wish!

I believe that the words used above are very appropriate. Unfortunately, I don't know if a random insertion into the C & C would be possible - or persuasive!

This is great language - and I get paid for being persuasive and using language, and I know good language when I see it!! Perhaps in a policy statement from the Grand High Alpha that was then published in the C & C.

We understand the meaning of the phrase, but we must also acknowledge that those words would be merely that - just words - in some parts of the country. We must admit to ourselves that the ritual does not differentiate between individuals of different faiths, colors, religions, or preferences. We are brothers - that says it all. The days of discrimination, of barring those men who because of the color of their skin or religious beliefs were found to be 'different', are past.

I cannot suggest that I would understand all the emotions in play with respect to a brother who was gay. I cannot pretend to do so. But I can accept him as the brothers in his own Zeta did. We cannot second guess our brothers. If he was accepted and initiated by our brothers, we cannot speak against him, and indeed, we must embrace him, as a brother.
