While for the most part I'm a fan of fall recruitment, it is in situations like this where I'm grateful that we have deferred. Most freshman women at my school have either never heard of sororities or have only heard what MTV, etc., has told them. It takes us about a whole term to convince them that we're not evil cults.

Another reason could be that the economy is not good right now.

Many people are struggling to get the tuition paid, and a sorority may be seen as something which is not "do-able" financially.

That "sorority life" was the silliest, most contrived thing I have seen in years. I feel badly for any pnm who thinks that situation was anything resembling reality!
