Correct, no bid matching. But no, you don't go to the Greek Life office to pick up bids. The sororities go around and deliver the bids. So, if for instance, my sorority extends you a bid, we could potentially show up during the time that another sorority is there...also, the PNM gets HER choice of which bid she wants to accept. I told you...insanity. That's why it's structured informal. There is no bid matching with informal.

When I went through informal rush, the sororities delivered the bids to my dorm room. That's how my roommate and I each received two bids. I chose D Phi E and she chose another sorority. :)

At my school only a few chapters do informal rush, and it is not in any way structured by panhellenic.
My chapter ussally holds a few events in a two week peroid that we invite rushees to. They come when they can, and if we feel they are interesed and we know them we extend bids. Pretty easy, and it allows us to go after people's friends. ll, M |
during spring recruitment at my school, they give the girls all the bids they receive and they choose. Although it isn't for my school though.
I think (someone correct me if I'm wrong) that if they do bid matching that would be considered formal recruitment and then everyone would be able to take a quota! Thank you all for your input! |
