A possitive thing for Florida is the smoking ban that passed. I wish Georgia would do something like that.

Ok...
I am proud to be a republican and to have voted for Jeb. I am not uneducated nor am I cruel. I happen to agree with the Republican philosophy. According to the national senate and house elections, so do the majority of Americans. Now, as for the statement regarding Jeb’s victory, "He won by South Florida votes, not North Florida", that is clearly incorrect. If you look at the voting by county, he only lost 13 counties. Yes, he did lose the counties surrounding Tallahassee. He also lost two south Florida counties. But those losses still leave him with a clear dominance of both North and Central Florida. He beat McBride by a full 13 % of the vote. |

That's it....I'm moving! I just can't believe I have to deal with 4 more years of him. Sigh.......

Oh, I beg to differ!
So, how long have you been in NoFlo? I've lived there my entire life (except to go to University), and the people I grew up around are some of the most educated people I've met anywhere. Look, there is a high military population, and a majority of people (at least where I live) are high ranking military officers (ever heard of a dumb general?) or are engineers for companies like Boeing and McDonnell. The public schools in Pcola aren't that great, but go about an hour to the east--the high schools (which for the most part are International High Schools which prepared us for admission to any University in the world) are some of the best in the state, sending kids to all the Ivies, MIT, and Caltech--every year.
Usually, I'm pretty antagonistic towards my home state. But cain't no one knock my North Florida! |

I think we should do away with welfare. I don't like the idea of working and extra day a week to take care of someone elses 14 kids. |
Just imagine though, how the hell would Florida have paid for Mcbride's little education expenditure? I think you're better off! Congrats to Jeb :)

I wish I had registered to vote in Alachua county. At the last presidential election I said I'd move out of the country if W won...now we've got Jeb again. Greeeeat.
On a lighter note, George Prescott IS way cute. |

You know, I've always wondered about Jeb's kids. I wonder if they count themselves as "hispanic" -- funny to think that one of the bluest bloods of the U.S. would designate this. Because, if George P. would ever become president, would he claim to be the first Hispanic ever elected? Or, would he take advantage of the "minority" status when he enters the business world (minorities are given certain breaks with ownerships, grants, etc.) |

Actually, Bush won in Miami-Dade County (my home) 265,636 to McBride's 233,196 and also in Monroe Co. (the Keys, for those who don't know) 13,564 to 11,832. But Bush lost in Broward Co. (Lauderdale) by a pretty large margin: 164,521 to 234,287. He also lost in Palm Beach (though I don't count that as South Florida) 134,625 to Bill's 186,319. Financial aid IS supposed to be for those who are the smartest & work the hardest. Or, are the universities granting admission to just anyone?! If you are accepted to a great school but can't afford it, you should be able to get help. |

I voted against this. And I'm a lifelong NON-smoker. I think it should be up to the business owner on whether or not to allow smoking in his/her establishment. If you don't like the smoking, then boycott the place. And let the owner know about it. That's the American way. |
