Bledsoe over Favre, not a chance.

Favre overrated? Ah, c'mon....whether you like him or not, you have to admit, he has produced year after year after year. He has not missed a single game in over 10 years, 3 time MVP, over 40,000 passing yards, 170 games started in a row.....all on the frozen tundra of Lambeau. Remember, this is a place where not even Warren Sapp stands a chance against him.

And then to compare him to Kurt Warner, the guy who was backup then has 3 big years. Thats like saying Mili-Vanili was a huge hit, when in reality they were only a "One-Hit-Wonder". Also, a 60 degree dome QB compared to a -10 degree QB just spells out "no contest".

If he continues doing what he's doing, Favre will be the 4 time MVP this year, hands down.

PS, when talking about "toughing it out", all fingers point to Brett Favre, not Bledsoe.

Huh? Only 3 big years? Try the 3 best years EVER by a QB. He had the second best season as a QB (Marino's 48 TD year was the best)

He has TWO mvps in 3 years. Second most passing yards in a season and one of the only two QB's to ever throw more then 40 TD in a season...not to mention leading the Rams to 500 points scored in a season THREE times in a row...something no team has ever done.

In only three years, Warner proved he is a winner and no one else can take that from him. I see your case about Favre being a great QB, but you can't take away anything from Warner.

Head to Head, I take Favre. Kurt Warners achievments can heavily be placed on a stacked reciving squad and one of the best running backs to ever play the game. Favre has played through some of the worst GB seasons, and still put up awesome numbers. Favre has had mediocre running backs at best and thankfully we now have Ahman Green who is the best running back GB has seen in a decade or two.

All credit to Warner, but I still take Favre. Favre is the guy starting tonight with a knee injury that would sideline most guys for the season.

Yeah, but what would Montana be without Rice/Taylor/Craig? You can't take anything away from a QB because of the talent around them. Trent Green and Jamie Martin couldn't do a thing with that offense so you have to admit it takes some skill to be a QB for the Rams. I've pretty much watched every game Warner has ever played in for the Rams and his throws are the most accurate I've ever seen. His WR's posses so much speed you HAVE to hit them in stride for the best results and he does that :)

I agree Favre is one of best QBs to ever play in the game, but I was responding to your comparision to Milli Vanilli...that is such an insult to Warner. You can't deny his road to the NFL is such a great story though...

As for 20 years from now, barring injury and the ability of Falcons management to surround him with quality pieces, Michael Vick may be a topic for discussion. What an interesting talent he is, although he still has a ways to go.

The key will be avoiding injury, and maybe getting a feature back (TJ Duckett?) - Finneran and the rest of the receivers aren't actually that bad, and the D is solid.

He gets MAULED though - I think that injury will be his biggest nemesis, at least until he learns to play smart. Hopefully it doesn't take a huge hit to teach him that, b/c he's awesome to watch.

Very true.

I suspect that the receivers have a bad rep because the best-known name (Shawn Jefferson) is in his 12th year and the others are rather young.

Duckett could develop into a featured back, he seems to have decent size (listed at 6 feet, 254 pounds) and strength.

I also hope MV will learn to play smart -- the guy is pure excitement, mixing passing and running.

Good point Steeltrap! I completely agree. Everytime I watch the 1989 Superbowl against the Bengals, I get chills! You can't forget "The Catch" either!!

I may be biased because I'm from SF, but he is one of the greatest QBs of all time..

I'll weigh in with my opinion on the matter

I'd have to go with Montana and Marino in a tie - both were great competitors, Marino had better numbers (and NO running game), while Montana had great numbers, plus the championships.

I would place Favre in the group of great quarterbacks...and honestly, in retrospect, he could be a top-five in my book (plays every day, great numbers, and a championship).

By the way, mentioning Warren Moon was a great call - like Kurt Warner, he came to the NFL late (around the same age maybe) and put up absolutely unreal numbers.
