Unions ensure quality of product and fair treatment of workers. Actully, screw it, jack ass is okay. Its like a safety valve. It bothers me as takes money from legit projects though.

What makes a project legit? I think its funny how jackass is the number one movie in America. Think of all of the films that take themselves seriously.

Unions in NO WAY legitimize a product. Just because someone wants to place themselves under the thumb of the SAG for example makes them no more an actor than anyone else. Unions have devolved into in many cases what would appear to be extensive extortion rings.. We actually had to do away with a law here in Oklahoma that FORCED people to join unions if they worked in union shops -- they used to have no choice whether or not to pay union dues.

Go see a non union play, then go to a LORT. Tell me you don't see a differece.

Hijacking the thread here... but..

Unions do NOT ensure the quality of the product! You need look no further than your federal or local government for proof of this! Here are a bunch of workers that know that no matter how bad a job they do they can't be fired! Unions have made the federal government an uncontrollable monstrosity of red tape and BS!

As far as ensuring the quality of a play... It's not union regulations but the individual actors that do the job. Whether they belong to a union or not is really irrelevant.

Jackass the Musical

Did anyone see the skit on SNL tonight, Jackass the Musical? Pretty funny stuff. Eric McCormack was Johnny Knoxville and every time the guy playing Steve-O was on stage singing, he got tackled by a panda.
