In the summer it’s hard to beat Dairy Queen; I love their soft chocolate! Other times I enjoy Baskin Robbins’ offerings, especially mint chocolate chip and sometimes peach or lemon in warm seasons.

I totally forgot about Dairy Queen. I love plain ice cream with the candy crunch toppings on top.

I can’t eat Dairy Queen. I do that and it’ll be Chernobyl simplex 10 until I eventually shit on myself in the process of passing all that built up Dairy Queen ice milk gas Lol.

Am I the only one who makes ice cream? Have an ancient electric machine (God was a baby when I bought it) that makes four quarts. Uses rock salt. I’ve made many flavors over the years, and have complied with special requests when invited to BBQs, etc. The best part is when the machine stalls, and there’s always a volunteer or three to clean the dasher. If you know, you know.

Store bought: Turkey Hill coffee, or Starbucks coffee flavors are my preferred options. We have local shops that I like (The Screamery is a good choice IMO). DQ lines are way too long in the summer.

Absolutely yes to this! My favorite is Graeter's Double Chocolate Chip. In a waffle cone, please.

No parlor, just Turkey Hill chocolate marshmallow.

But not many places around here sell it.

That's a good one. Can't find it up here in WI, either. Where I grew up we had a local chain, Ehrler's. Their Chocolate Marshmallow might be the best ice cream I've ever had.

I now live in the heart of Frozen Custard country. The best I've had up here is Rice Krispie Treat. "Chunks of Rice Krispie treats, fluffy marshmallow and chocolate shavings blended into a vanilla custard." Trust me, it is divine!

I've been known to make ice cream on occasion.

A fun way to make ice cream: Ziploc ice cream. Put some milk / half and half / cream in a quart bag along with vanilla extract (or whatever flavor you like) and whatever sweetener you like. Put some ice and salt in a gallon bag. Seal the quart bag, put it in the gallon bag, and seal the gallon bag. Then shake the hell out of the gallon bag. After a bit, you will have a quart bag full of ice cream.

It also works well if you drop the ice cream bag, ice and salt into a big, plastic, gallon (or more) sized container like this:

Does anyone else live near a Culver's? Love their frozen custard! My favorite is vanilla with Heath topping, or Mint Explosion!

During my "medical incarceration" I had a lot of Italian Ice. With the heat wave predicted for the next couple of days, I have an order in for a dozen or so cups: lemon, cherry, and blue raspberry. YUMMY!!

Looks like you’ve experimented with many different flavors of ice cream, NinjaPoodle.
