Through ebay sales, etc she collected $20,000 to get herself out of debt. Nothing wrong with soliciting charity I guess.

I was discussing this girl's actions with a few coworkers and they were repulsed that she paid off her debt that way. They commented how she obviously had a spending problem and would probably rack up the debt again in no time.
See, what is sad is you never know why or how people go into debt. I unfortunately mis-spent a few times (true) but I also had a lot of car problems and had to put them on my card too. So, I suppose it's all in the hands of God as to wether or not people feel compelled to send money to a complete stranger with a possible spending problem! |
I guess it's whatever works for some people.... gee, I wish people would just donate money to me!

HEY
ok, why does she have an on-line store, featuring "Save Karyn" apparel??

See, at first I was thinking that she had a good game going, but after seeing this, mofos that gave her money because she was "broke" should feel real silly now. |
I think I remember reading somewhere on her site that she doesn't pay anything to have the shirts made. I think the buyer pays for the shirt, and then Karyn gets a tiny amount of money from the sale. But she doesn't pay anything. I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure that's what I remember.
I have to give her mad props for doing this. I so wish I had thought of it because I am overwhelmed with debt right now (most of it student loans). She found a creative way to solve a problem, and she's not hurting anyone. |
