To answer your question PhiSig4Eva, what I meant by "non traditional" is like locals, co-eds, and culturally based sororities (like NALFO groups). I have no problems with these groups, but they seem to have a problem with us (as in with the "main stream" sororities as a whole).

Anyways, like I said earlier, I've noticed that the "non-traditionals" are becoming more popular out here. Is that the case back East too? Because I think that's what has effected the growth of NPC's in Southern Cali.

Anyways, let's just be glad that the Extention Committee is aware of our requests/needs to grow.

Iota Delta

HI All,

I finally found out about our newest chapter. Iota Delta was installed on December 7, 2002 at Central Connecticut State University in New Britain, CT. check out their website at http://www.geocities.com/phisigccsu I've sent them a congratulations email and of course encouraged them to check out greekchat.

Now if we can find out how the colonization at Shawnee State is doing.

Hey,

It`s great to see the new chapter!! I'm so happy for them!!!

one question though...I thought Phi Sig International disapproved of paddles....in one of their pics they are making them....why would a new group start a tradition frowned upon?

CO never really said anything to us about disapproving of paddles. In fact our key advisor encouraged us to set the tradition of new sapphire sister giving her "big" the paddle and the older sapphire sister giving her "little" chapter letters. Has anybody heard from CO about their stance on paddles?

In Iota Gamma not not all sisters make paddles in the traditional sense. We're a "finanicially challenged" chapter so some sisters went to Michaels or Walmart and bought wood plaques that they painted instead of a normal paddle. I've loved how all of the paddles traditional or not have looked.

my knowledge of this came from 1999 LTS...i bought the paddle dangle for my badge...later told that it was not to be sold to us, my advisor made me take it off....thus 2000 convention i went to see the jeweller againa nd she said it was a mistake, and offered me another dangle (but i had lost the paddle by that time)

also as in the actual paddle...our advisor didn't allow it...they tried starting that tradition in the mid nineties but it didn't stick because of this....

i think a nice plaque tradition should be started though....not necessarily a paddle...

Please smile and cheer up because Shawnee State just colonized this past year. We'll get to meet the entire chapter at our division conference in April.

Please read the signature. . .because it's so true.
