Haha! What a funny thread to go back and read!! Chris and I are still together and deleriously happy. In October of last year, he moved to Maryland for a job (he moved less than a week after defending his masters thesis). :( But we weren't going to let that stop us! I'm teaching one more year in Raleigh (NC) and then I'll move up there this next summer (a little less than a year from now). I think the distance is a great test for our relationship -- and we are passing with flying colors...

We fly back and forth an insane amount. He's actually driving down as I type this...we are doing a triathlon tomorrow (my first -- wish me luck!!!). Rumor has it that he made an expensive purchace recently. We looked at rings about two months ago! I suspect I'll have big news sometime before Christmas.

And as far as the sorority thing with him...he won't always admit it, but he really liked some of the sorority events...especially Anchor Splash (he'll still grimmace today if he has to tell people I'm in a sorority:p). He was a big help around the house, fixing computer problems and one of my favorite DG memories with him was when we were practicing over the dinner hour for the Greek Week Lip Sync, he bought take out dinner from the Macaroni Grill for all 10 dancers and just showed up at the house with it without telling us before hand.

My chapter never had official Anchor Men...but so many of my chapter sisters have told me (and him) that if we ever did select an Anchor Man...he would have been the first one!

You can't tell me this guy doesn't look happy:

I am glad you stayed with your GLO...

and I am glad your boyfriend is supportive.

My husband wasn't greek in college, but he is a member of what consider to be the "biggest fraternity in the world"...the United States Marine Corps. Anyway, I was a 5th year when we got together and had already had my Greek experience, which I was so happy for.

We are only on campus and enmeshed in Greek and Campus life for such a short time when you think of it. **BUT** don't make a decision for a lifetime affiliation with pressure from people that may not be in your life forever, or at least a pretty substantial time.

My AGD now is something I just "do", like Mark's Marine Corps League or both of us supportive with our boys' sports and activities... It's OK that AGD isn't the focal point of my life now, but still remains a part of me.
