At my school AZD's are referred to as either AZD's (like zee) or Alpha "sigh" Delta.
Also I thought that the pronounciation for Phi as in Apha Phi or Alpha Phi Omega depends on if its a sorority (fee) or fraternity (fi) Quote:

Hi everybody,
I have been to Greece and the pronounciation of the letters is mostly different from America. Unfortunately, I don't know how to write it down phonetically but I am not sure if it really matters. Hey, you guys are in America and I don't see anything wrong pronouncing it in English. One thing, however, that sounds surprising to me is that you say that "X" is pronounced "Zee". From street signs in Greece I learned that "X" stands for Chi and "Z"= zeta for Zee. There is in addition the Xzee (like in taxi) which I am unable to type here on my keyboard - are you all referring to that letter??
