Cost is a factor, as is the demands upon the time of those attending. It would be a burden for many to spend upwards of a week away from home on a yearly basis.

We do an annual business meeting and leadership conference and have done them every year. We have not discussed going to an every other year meeting - for a national of small size, we try to keep our meetings in relatively close proximity to the chapters and this allows our executive board to develop relationships within the chapters. Our conventions are short and we are able to keep costs down.
