Sigma Phi Epsilon is now the third fraternity at ASU to get suspended from campus in less than 6 months. It sucks that these were the largest most popular chapters on campus and now there gone:(

I'm not trying to start anything, I'm just wondering...

No kidding i was thinking the same thing..

Ladies don't bring Fraternity standards into this.
I don't know about all fraternities out there, but I would have thought that most fraternities claimed to be "gentlemen" and by even looking at some of the inter/national websites of fraternities, it is clear that being "gentleman-ly" is one of the things some chapters pride themselves in. If it's in your fraternity's standards to act so outlandishly and not be held responsible for your actions I might start to wonder what that fraternity is all about. I'm not insulting any organization in any way, and I can understand some people to want to be "human" or "liberated" however, I am sure you might understand that your actions speak tremendously loud and might also have a negative impact on your organization - whether it be your chapter, or the entire inter/national organization.

If that's the way you want to represent your fraternity and your fraternity's "ideals", more power to you, but I would personally have more respect for the organization than to do something like that knowing that the organization would have to suffer for the acts of a few.

Add the Phi-Sigs to that list now, too. :(

It's Phi Sig, Sigma Nu, and Sig Ep that are gone!
That makes me :(

I went to my first frat party at Phi Sig, and had a few good friends in Sigma Nu.

Are you guys still on-campus? I've heard otherwise. I thought your sisterhood was filled with amazing women, and I was sad to hear that you guys closed. :(

Too many good greek orgs gone from ASU.

Shine ~

sundevil2000 is an ADPi and they are still on campus at ASU. You are probably thinking of Sigma Kappa.

Durr...

I dunno why, but I keep mixing her up with sigkapsundevil.

I did get the sorority right, though. Still sad they had to go.

I'm praying all the others have a strong Recruitment this week. :)

Just to update you all, the front of our state press announced today that Theta Chi is the fourth fraternity asked to leave campus. They are going to try to appeal it so were hoping for the best. Our Greek Community is falling apart already with the loss of 3 other fraternities that were huge, we REALLY dont need to lose anymore.

That is sad. There are a lot of great guys in that Theta Chi chapter. I heard that the Theta Chis in the video were seniors and have all graduated too. This really is an example of the few spoiling it for the many. Because of the choices those men made that night, the rest of the chapter must live with the consequences. :(
I also heard that the new ASU president has it on his agenda to rid the campus of all greek life - it looks like he's on his way with a little help from "Shane's World". :(

Optimist Prime 09-06-2002 10:20 AM

No. I want brothers there.

babydawl72 09-24-2002 01:01 AM

I just wanted to say that I am very sad to hear about Phi Sig and Theta Chi being asked to leave ASU. I know the men who were involved in the porn. They are good people despite the poor decisions they have made. It makes me angry to know that even though they have all graduated, their fraternities are still being punished for it. My best memories of ASU have been with the brothers of Theta Chi and Phi Sig. Luau Blowout, barndance, black and grey, music awards and PSOlympics....its sad to know these events have all come to a permanent end. I suggest that we support Theta Chi by emailing ASU's new president and asking that they be reinstated! It's the least we can do to keep ASU's greek system strong.

I don't think it's within the rights of a PUBLIC institution to set these kinds of guidelines for organizations. If I wanted to start the porno club at my school -- that's my right as an American Citizen. These chapters need to get some ACLU attorneys over there to help them out. Only their HQ's have the right (in this case) to revoke their charter.

sundevil2000 10-14-2002 03:19 AM

MTV came to ASU on Friday to film students about the whole porn scandal. It came at such a bad time seeing how it was Parents Weekend. Also, they are making a new cartoon based on Brian Buck, I think its called Buck Wild. This whole situation will never go away.
