I remember OTW making a reference to a girl being found out last year. I would say never, NEVER,NEVER identify the sororities or in anyway reveal something easily connected to yourself on these threads. When GC opens, have you ever noticed the number of people on the boards? Some are names that were registered long ago and never posted. Others are "guests". Always be mindfull of who could be "lurking".

That said, I do recall a "roundup" type thread (Maybe from 2000 or even longer ago) That had the PNMs post the more detailed-the good and the bad info-AFTER their recruitment was over. Of course it was still tactful and diplomacy was the rule for the most part, but it did delve into some critiques that would be beneficial for future recruitments.

You are absolutely right, JAM. I can't remember exactly what she said about XYZ sorority, but it did create a VERY uncomfortable situation even AFTER recruitment was over. It wasn't along the lines of "the XYZ sisters were snotty bitches", but it was still enough to cause a very unfortunate situation to happen. :(

I personally like the suspense of not knowing which chapter is which until the very end. The woman can list all available chapters at the beginning and then give them names or numbers. I confess that the numbers can get kind of confusing, but I think it's better in the long run for the PNM. It's not that difficult to scroll up and refresh your knowledge that PollyPNM's favorites coming out of the round were 2, 3, 5, 8, and 9 before going on to read that she was invited back to Pref by 2, 5, 8, and 9 and chose to regret 9 with interest. It would help even more if PollyPNM would remind everybody at the top of her post that she'd liked those groups before revealing where she would be preffing.

I've spent the past month or so reading last year's rush threads (gotta get caught up with what everybody else knows). The best part was at the end of JAM's daughter's thread when we all found out where she went. I cheered when I saw the little graphic of the anchor swinging. I hate suspense, but I love it, too.

Again, it's all about what makes a PNM the most comfortable. Some have more of a flare for drama in their posts than others. This is just my 400 Lire (or however many Euro that calculates out to being).

You know, I remember when Barbara posted that "swinging anchor" It meant so much. So even though it's ONE YEAR LATER (WOW) Thanks again Barbara for that gesture. That was so NEAT!
