New poster here! I am going to the DZ events at UF. And UF56, you are right...the girls sent to represent DZ are fabulous! They are so polite and so sweet you just want to hug them! I am so excited about all the DZ stuff going on. My first event is Sept. 24th...that is the opn house. Would you guys like to know what's goign on? I can keep you updated on it as I go through!

I too will be attending the open house. It will have the DZ's from FSU here for all the PNM's to meet. My interview is on Wed, September 25th. The consultant I spoke with today said that they are expecting to interview 500 women!!!! WOWSER!!! Starting to get nervous and excited!!

DZ ladies...
 

The DZ ladies visited during dinner at Kappa tonight. They came to thank us for all of our support, and for our banner.

We made a banner that says "Welcome DZ to our Greek Community." It's in DZ colors, with a little turtle, and it's hanging in front of the Kappa house. Kappa at UF is on 13th Street...which is off the row, and on a more visible street.

The ladies also told us about the "Panhellenic Big Sisters" program. They're asking that houses volunteer about 10 ladies to be big sister to the new DZ class. They want us to invite them over for dinner sometimes, and just be a role model to them. They said that we didn't have to spend any money on them...but that the purpose is so that girls in the UF greek system can introduce the new DZ girls to UF greek traditions and activities.

Everyone was oohing and aahing about having that opportunity. It seems like a lot of fun...but I have a feeling it applies more to the already initiated sisters.

Anyway...I just wanted to share that with everyone...and good luck to all the UF girls interviewing with DZ. I'm really excited to meet the new class! :D

Panhellenic Big Sisters! What a great idea! I think that should be in the Extension notebook for all new colonies!

OK, it's after midnight and I have such butterflies in my stomach. I can't sleep! I am so excited about the Open House tomorrow! The dress is nice casual, so I am still debating over whether to wear a skirt or a sundress...

If anybody has any last minute advice, I'd love to hear it. The Delta Zeta's from Florida State are going to be at the Open House so I am excited to meet them!

Oh geeze, I am such a dork...I am seriously smiling as I am writing this!

Good Luck UFRushee05, UF56 and everyone else going to the DZ informationals. No advice-just look you absolute best, wear something great (sundress sounds fine) & try to relax (yeah, right). I'm so excited for you guys! Be sure & keep us all posted!
