I am not assuming I will get a bid. I just didn't want to bother asking her about it if there were rules in place that you had to attend all events.

I went through informal and unless things have changed drastically, there are no hard and fast rules. The main thing is that enough members have met you to get an idea of your personality and so on. That's any sorority's concern. They want to make sure you'd be a good fit. Best of luck!

There were no awkward pauses in conversation, and I kept away from topics such as partying, boys, or trash talking other sororities. My GPA was a little low (3.27) but this past semester I got a 3.48 which might help me out some. School starts next week, is it too early to approach her about it now?

If this is really a very good friend, I don't understand the hesitation. You are asking her for help, not demanding that she get you a bid!

I would even ask her for help figuring out what you can do to improve your "presentation" to sororities to increase your chances with ALL of the chapters that are open for COB.

Unfortunately, things did not work out with my friend's sorority. I got invited to pref but could not attend and didn't get a bid. However, I went to another open house and loved the sisters so much! Now I'm a sigma kappa!
