ok, so I thought there was a picture of our house somewhere on the internet, but I was wrong. But if you think old houses are cool, DRau, our house at the College of Charleston was built sometime between 1730 and 1770. It's one of the oldest houses on Sorority Row. On our campus, Chi Omega's house was built in 1770 and ADPi's was built in 1850. The rest I am not really sure about, but they're all pretty old.

I am so jealous!!! My sorority house looks like a paupe house compared to all of yours especially FSU's ZTA house.
Geesh we have six rooms and there are four girls crammed in five rooms-- the house mom gets her own room. Our tv room is so small so if we do Friends sisterhood or such we have to put the tv in the living room and move all of the furniture out. Our couches are from the late 1980's. This yr we finally got new bunk beds since the ones we had since 1981(NOT Joking) were a safety hazard!

There is a picture of Zeta Theta chapter's house on our web site, http://ww2.lafayette.edu/~agd/ but it's kind of dark because we have so many trees around. It used to be the campus's infirmary (which I never understood because it's down a pretty steep hill), and I think it's about 100 yrs old (but don't quote me on that!). It looks a little bigger than it really is because the 3rd floor is closed off, but I think it's one of the prettiest sorority houses at Lafayette...most of the other ones are converted dorms, but we have a real house. :)

Florida Delta Pi Beta Phi House

Can't wait to move in...only 2 more days!! And I got my first choice of room, too! :D

PnguinTrax I LOVE your house! I saw it in person back in April on my fateful trip to Tallahassee and was also impressed with DZ's house and I think Chi O's.

Also completely fell in love with Florida Beta Pi Phi's house, but can't find their website for my life. :(

I love looking at Greek houses!

Sorry, this is the hard way, but I can't seem to make a direct link work -- perhaps because the site is being updated.

Go to www.oudelt.com, click on photo album, then click on 1999 button. There is a fair picture of the Athens Shelter. It was opened in 1970. There is a painting of the "old" OU Delt house in the museum area of the Delt Central Office. The "old" one is where I pledged.

((Edit -- now that link is down. If it's worth it, go to the OU link below, choose "current students," then "Student Organizations," then "Greek Life," then "fraternity and sorority chapter list," then "Delta Tau Delta." I don't blame you if this is too much to bother with.))

I also wish I could show you a picture of Galbreath Chapel which is across the street from the Delt House on the OU College Green (National list of Historic Places). It was donated by the late Brother John Galbreath, a Beta Chapter alumni who later owned a Kentucky Derby Winner, part of the Pittsburgh Pirates (with brother Dan) and lots of other real estate around the country.

If you ever visit the OU webpage (www.ohio.edu), you can take a tour of campus buildings and see the chapel and the alumni center (see below).

Also, the Konneker Alumni Center was donataed by Brother Wilfred Konneker, another Beta Delt.

Yikes! Sorry this is such a mess.

Thanks, Angels&Arrows! I was going CRAZY looking for their site...and I've looked for it before, too, b/c I've heard such good things about their chapter. I wish they would make one! :)

SnakeyKPledge 08-08-2002 01:52 PM

Dianne...I just wanted to say that CofC has some of the most beautiful houses that I've ever seen. I go to a school where we don't have houses, b/c of some law...but I've got a friend who is a KD at CofC and I'm going to see her house when I go down there next week. I can't wait b/c they are all so beautiful from the outside. :)

Anytime!

PM me if you ever need a website for one of our chapters. If the chapter has a website, I have it!... With the exception of WVU. I heard they were building one, but I have not seen it.

Good Luck with work week and moving into the house!

ilovemyglo 11-21-2002 04:47 PM

I hope this works! My chapter has two houses that are side by side! We are the only chapter I know of with two houses!

A lot of people here (UW) have two houses. I think that a lot of them are considered annex's. We have an annex, but it is a seperate house, but we abide by every rule and stiulation that we do in the main house, so it definately is a second house I think. A couple houses actually have sky bridges on our campus. Were looking into it.

This is a picture of our Kappa Sigma chapter house at Washburn University.

http://www.washburn.edu/ur/postcard/...KappaSigma.jpg

It's small with only 26 beds, but is definitely a cool old house.
