Obviously they're saying that they'll "make someone over" for their sorority recruitment. New haircut, makeup, etc. They probably want younger people doing different things, and this is one thing a woman between 18-24 would do! I'd love a makeover, but then again, what 28 year old is rushing! :)

I agree with Colleenie about no film crews being allowed into recruitment events, too. Every NPC organization has been told that they are not to cooperate with MTV, so I see this idea fizzling out pretty quickly. |
I can see it now ... this chick gets this total makeover and is so excited. Then the school tells MTV, NO, you cannot film rush parties. MTV gets upset. So they decide not to film rush, just find out where she went. Well the chapters get wind that she was "that MTV makeover chick" and they all cut her ... so what can MTV report? That the makeover was a failure?

Hey
Why does it have to be a sorority, why can't it be a fraternity? That would be more interesting, IF ANYTHING! MTV is ridiculous.

Ok, weird, but test post. I can't get this signature to work!!! How do you all get yours to be colored?

Congratulations MTV!
You have officially hit a new low.... |
yeesss.... let's just reinforce all the sterotypes that sorority girls are shallow and only care about looks of the PNMs. please... gimmie a break.
i agree with NatalieCD... we need a "Fraternity Life" or something... |
If MTV wants something to film, why don't they come to our university and film 22 guys collecting 102,000 pounds of food for the North American Food Drive? Or better yet they could come to our school and film any of the greek organizations doing what they do best- which is helping others. When will MTV learns that greek life is not about fronting for rush, or one persons make over for rush -but about brotherhood/sisterhood and their connections with the communitys that they all benefit. None of this self centered MTV bull....Ohh wait MTV doesnt want to see a fraternity (multiple houses for that matter) getting along and helping in the community, they want conflict and drama. When MTV wants to film somthing worthwhile -I say give me a call...I'll be waiting.

thank you!
i totally agree and i think MTV should try and put somthing worthwhile on the air everyonce and awhile, I along withmany of my friends have just lost respect for the station as the "voice of our generation" it has turned into the voice of business men trying to stay young and hip while making tons of money. I think it could be a great thing for the greeks and MTV if they were to show a True Life or somthing with a Fraternityor Sorority, and show them doing thier philanthopys, maybe even greek week and such, show every one we CAN get along and we DO help out while still haivng fun!

The shows are just crass. Or am I missisng some sense of social value? Then again, the teens probably have more disposable income than the poor college students, so the target demographic may make sense for them. |
i dont think so
i hate to have to disagree... but im only 18yo and most of my friends are between 15-20 with the emphisis on the lower end. and i would have to say that that age demographic is who are out buying everything... and most 15-16yo's i know right now are sick of mtv and watch M2 or Much, because it tends to pretain to our likes and desires alot more.

The only channels who would probably do a REAL depiction of sorority and/or fraternity life is PBS or the History channel. And how many people between the ages of 16-25 really watch those channels?
My second votes for channels would be A&E, TLC and Lifetime. But Lifetime only if Linda Gray, Meredith Baxter or Judith Light could host it :p |
