My advise would be to call the local SHARPs (Skin Heads Against Racial Predjucdice) and they will fight with the nazis. Also, anyone who has 88 tatooed on them is a national socialist and racist hate monger. H is the 8th letter so 88=HH=Heil Hitler. yup.

Hell yeah protest their rallies. Nazis are more organised in the U.S. than any other country. IF they have right to do what they do tthen we have right to moniter them. They protest abortion clinics.

My concern is that these rallies will turn violent. I'm glad they're not coming here.

I saw a skin head three years ago, and he was the damn scariest person that I have ever seen in my life. I thought that he would hurt us. :(

true that. so don't discriminate against the guy (or girl) in the pick-up. he might someday help you move stuff.

Careful with language here . . .

**quick history lesson**

The term "skinhead" does NOT refer to racists, generally - originally, the skinhead movement started with the working class in England during the late 60's/early 70's . . . the movement was based around the notions of peace and equality for all, combatting the racism of the times. The movement was centered primarily around Reggae and Ska music at the time (think the Specials, the Selector, Prince Buster, etc) - this is known as the '2nd wave' of Jamaican ska/reggae music, or the 'Brixton Beat' and included bands like Madness as well. "Skinhead" was nearly synonymous with "rude boy" and the like, and was a multiculture ideal - there were skinheads that were white, black, and anything in between. The point was protection of the blue-collar workers (which had a huge proportion of Jamaican immigrants), and support for egalitarian political action.

The racist archetype of the skinhead is a recent invention, born out of the shaved heads many white supremecist groups sported. These are NOT 'skinheads' - they are assholes. Subtle distinction.

Anyway - I just wanted you all to be careful who you label a 'skinhead' and etc. Groups like SHARP (skinheads against racial prejudice) fight extremely hard against hate groups, but a certain irony exists when these people are in turn discriminated against due to a skinhead stereotype of white supremecists.

KSig RC~
You're right, but the term skin head or rudeboy was started in Jamica. The first skinheads were black. America is the only country in the world where more skinheads are racist or non-politcal than activley anti-racist or anti-fascist. The anti-fascist movement in Austria was started by skinheads. They're probably in jail now.

Actually, I saw this skinhead in England. I was visiting my cousin who lives there. She told me there are a lot of skinheads in her neighborhood. I don't know if this particular white skinhead was a racist, but he looked scary.

Just to back up something that someone said....if you ever do get a chance to visit a KKK rally do. You will learn how stupid extremist groups really are in thier beliefs. They are totally condtridicting too. They make it seem that the white people were the ones that were discriminated against. And it is just not a color thing it is a religion and pretty much anyone who is not an "American perfect decent"

Just wanted to back up that I am not a racist....just have had the chance of being with my uncle who is a photographer when he was shooting a Klan rally in his city. Very very interesting for me. Since I am a social studies major it is definitely something I will tell my kids about when i am a teacher.

So many horrible things going on lately- an "overload" of bad news.

Crimes of hate against women, children, religions, entire races... Sometimes I do get the feeling that the people on this earth are wound up so tight, SOMETHING is going to be unleashed that will
be more devastating than anything in our history on earth.

yes, I'm pessimistic...
Somebody PLEASE-Will we EVER know peace and understanding?
Do we have to destroy everything and start from scratch?

:(

I have to tell you that here in New York, Sept. 11th was that day. It was hate, terror, horror, and devastation. I can only hope and pray that nothing of that magnitude or greater ever happens again.

HoneyKiss, what I an DA are trying to say, if no one shows up for the party, is there one!

These people are sick, sick and I think that Most Sane People realize it.

I would not go to one because I would become so incensde I would do something stupid as these Moronic Asswholes are doing!

I am not impressed by them anymore than I am Impressed with Jessie Jackson or Al Sharpton who preach violence in the voice of racial equalisms! Is there not enuff Violence to go around with out Supposedly Sane People not pushing it?

They preach equal rights but try to push it to the edge of inciting fighting! Is This Right?

Please do not go into a diatrab of equal rights for this post! I look forward to meeting you with the KC GC Group Soon!

Optimist Prime 07-26-2002 11:07 AM
