Yes, but it was some years before we had a president who had attended college after 1776. And remember, too, that the first of what we would now consider a general, or social, fraternity was not established until 1825 -- then you have to wait until someone who was in college in 1825 or later to become president.

Actually, only 17 presidents have been Greek -- at least if one is only looking at general GLO's -- and the first "Greek President" was Rutherford B. Hayes (DKE), elected in 1877.

Just to include my bit,

Benjamin Harrison, of Miami University's 1854 class, was a member of Phi Delta Theta Fraternity.
He served as President from 1889-1893.

Bill attended law school at Yale. He TAUGHT constitutional law at UA.

As to Clinton affiliating with the Kappa Sigs at Arkansas--I'm pretty sure he would've affiliated with Phi Delta Theta because he was forever hanging out with Skip Rutherford, who was their president.
