I like Panera......I like the veggie sandwich with the caramelized onions on it.....and I am a soup freak, love the soup.

I seriously cannot stand Panera, and refuse to eat anything there, with the exception of cinnamon crunch bagels and raspberry cheese coissants. Don't ask, I've had many bad food experiences there...maybe it's just the one by me that sucks.

Yup, its one in the same. See, good things come from St. Louis. I am adicted to their summer strawberry, poppy-seed salad.

I get really sick whenever I eat there. I think it's something they put it their bread cause I don't get sick when I eat their salads. A lot of my friends get sick from eating there too.

EagleChick19 07-16-2002 10:46 AM

Weird, I hadn't heard of that....

JMUduke 07-16-2002 10:54 AM

*stomach growling*....This is making me hungry!

I worked at one for 22 months!!!

My family had cinnamon crunch bagles for breakfast for a year solid! :)

It was wicked tough for me to go from having Panera nearly everyday to none at all once I went off to college (the one in Lincoln isn't nearly as good as the one I worked at)

There are so many awesome things there. The best soup ever was the corn and green chili chowder, but the Clam Chowder, Potato Cream Cheese, french onion and Brocolli Cheddar were also awesome.

They have an awesome ceaser salad, and the Tomato and Mozzarela salad they have in the summer is really good too!

All the sandwhiches really kick ass, but the my favorite was a Bacon Turkey Bravo, on Tomato basil bread, with everything, add onions, no gouda, sub swiss...I must have had that for like 2 months straight.

I reccomend the cinnamon rolls, the pecan rolls, the gooey butter danish, the razcheese crossaints, and the blondies. Also if they ever have the white choclate almond crunch...get that!

Oh, and just an inside tip from a veteran employee...don't ever get the cream cheese, b/c it's probably been out for a while...I know that we seldom got cream cheeses done in a reasonable amount of time. I'm surprised more ppl didn't get sick.

Oh and St. Louis Bread is one and the same with Panera.

How about the asiago cheese? Is that safe to eat?

EagleChick19 07-17-2002 01:45 PM

I think that the Asiago cheese is fine, because its baked into the bread. But, she is saying that don't take the cream cheese b/c it has been sitting out for a while.... You know what that can give you...

Food Poisoning!!

Exactly...Everyone hated having to make those little single servings of cream cheese. Weekends were the worse, b/c obviously in the morning we sold a lot of cream cheese. And since we also had to still take care of customers, sometimes the cream cheese would sit out for a couple hours before being refrigerated again...

The asiago is perfectly fine...it usually was frozen right up until the point it was going to be baked.

Panera is some good eatin', and there's plenty here in Atlanta.
I really like the potato soup in the sour dough bread bowl, and the cuban sandwich.
My ex-girlfriend used to work there, so I would get free lunches...
good times!

EagleChick19 07-18-2002 09:13 PM

I also love their Green Tea!!

UofISigKap 07-19-2002 10:49 AM

None around here

The poppyseed dressing on the strawberry salad...I'm so glad that was mentioned! It is delicious. :) Broc and cheese bread bowls too. There are no Panera's out here in Virginia where I am. It is tragic because I love that place.

I noticed that the two bad experiences were in Florida. Could they be the same store? My knowledge of FL geography isn't very good.

Have you guys looked at their website?

Here's a link to it: http://www.panerabread.com
