I go to the University of South Carolina. Maybe I should explain a little better, though...

Our homecoming is one fraternity paired with one sorority (I think that's normal for all campuses) and historically only white fraternities/sororities participate... I'm not sure why... but there's one day that's all dances, with three different types of competition: couples, group, and step. A Phi A always participates in only the step competition, but nothing else, and other than that, it's all white fraternities/sororities. It's not strictly restricted to greek, but it sort of just happens to be that way all of the time.

Legacy, can I ask your, (and other members of BGLO's), opinion on this? Has your chapter participated in an event like this? I am very interested in improving NPC and NPHC relations on my campus, because I would like for all of us ladies to get to know one another better. I think the ladies could get the ball started, and got the idea of a joint step show, in which the NPHC women could team up with a white sorority and teach us how to step. We could put on a kind of competition between orgs, us amatuers against each other, and then the pros, and we could put the proceeds from the event towards a philanthropy. I want to approach the NPHC groups on my campus about this, but do not want to overstep any bounds. I personally have read up on some of the history behind this, and it's also very enjoyable to watch. We partnered up with Phi Beta Sigma and SAE for Greek Week this past year, and as part of our "Road Trip" skit, the Sigmas brought down the house, recreating the scene where the Xi Chis stepped. I love watching it, and would love to learn more about it, and how to do it even more.

We haven't had a full one at Old Dominion yet. We have had the ZTA's & Zeta Phi Beta. We are working on it this year for a larger version. I am President of NPHC so I'm looking for anything to bring us closer. One avenue that is helping is intramurals. The only problem with that is our low numbers. What are you guys trying.

We have a thing similar but is called air band! Is a type of skit thing, have only seen on video as is way after my time!

While I was in school, had good relationships with the BGLOS but I think now is only 1 Fraternity and 1 Soroity there and have always been small chapters.

May be something for the BGLOS to look into!

One of my reps is Omega Psi Phi Grambling, a friend is Kappa from Langston! My newest young rep is from Langston U and going to try to hook him up as an Alum Initiate with one of them!

Thanks for the Info you guys and gals!

I am not sure if this qualifys, but KC has the Marching Cobras who are Kids from the Black Community who put on one hell of a show and are known around the county!

If yu do not mind from an old Fart, They get down!!!!!:D
