Kind of a BTCS feel to it. |
good, i guess.
i've not gotten to hear it (obviously) and while I loved LWS, it was pretty damn depressive, but really with the lyrics it'd be hard to be anything but... For example, my two favorite songs are Big Eyed Fish and Grace is Gone....Suicide and alcoholism....it'd be hard to imagine a groovier beat to those themes. Whatever happened to naming the song Busted Stuff (smack my bitch) ?!?!? Amycat? |
namign the song busted stuff??
i think i'm not following. busted stuff is actually probably my LEAST favorite song on the album. Bartender is my favorite and I LOVE the lyrics to You Never Know. :) A |
way back before LWS ever leaked out, DMB had discussed a song titled Smack My Bitch, and then said it was going to be called Busted Stuff (smack my bitch), but then it came out only as busted stuff.....do you know why that is? i assume because of the foul name of it, but....
just curiouis if you knew......do you remember when all that was? |
Hmmm. I don't know. I don't think I ever heard that--or heard it in any context other than Dave's ramblings-- you know how he is.
but if i find out, I'll let you know. Isn't there another song w title or refrain already smack my bitch? that's probably why. I'd guess it was Dave thinking he was being funny when he said it. |
i'd read it off their website.
|
I heard on this album that DMB went back to their funkier roots, like with their previous albums. Everyone has their own personal preference. Just b/c you think an album is s#@!, that doesn't mean that everyone else will hate it. Take it with a grain of salt...

Over at Nancies though it seemed a lot of people felt that way....so I didn't want anyone with TOO high of hopes.....plus if you expect less and get average, it still seems better...

I am SO psyched for this disc to come out. I agree with Amycat, Busted Stuff is one of my least favorite songs from LWS. But really, as long as it doesn't sound like everyday (which I didn't hate, but it wasn't the Dave I know and love) I'll love it. He jams out more in these songs...at least, he does in the LWS. The thing with that disc, as much as I loved the songs, is that they were all so damn depressing! Honestly, whenever I was a little bit depressed, I'd put on the disc and by the end, I'd be just on this side of suicidal. It'll be nice to hear those songs with a less morbid tempo.
I was going to pre-order it but I didn't want to take the risk of not having it in my hands on the day it comes out. Wonder if it's unprofessional to sit at my desk with my headphones on for an hour.... |

Over at Nancies they like to see the DOWNSIDE of everything. I'd fall over if someone over their was actually content with DMB. LOL |

LOL!!! If they didn't like it, then they wouldn't have anything to b!@$% about.... |
Does anyone know the origin of this performance?
'Everyday' can grow on you after a while.
I'm sure some of you have heard Dave and EmmyLou Harris perform "Long Black Veil." The first time I heard it was live w/ her, two years ago in nashvegas. I've downloaded this song, but before he sings, he's introduced by a male voice, then Dave says, "...thank you, thank you, thank you, Johnny Cash,...introduce the next person who's gonna help me get this right, Ms EmmyLou Harris." or something to that extent. Is this performed at some J. Cash Tribute, or FarmAid or what? |
