I will agree with zntke and say the Levi's commercial where the women's belly buttons are singing. That freaked me out the first time I saw it. All the sudden these belly buttons start moving....it was scary.

OMIGOD! Those salsa commercials make me want to vomit!!!

There's a commercial that doesn't "freak me out" but really upsets me is the Hockey Falls commerical where the guy comes in with the autographed jacket and the waitress spills water all over the sleeve and wipes the signatures off. This pains me every time I see it, regardless of how many times I see it!

The jiffy lube commercial where the guys are trying to find the dipstick in the car drives me nuts. It doesn't even look like a real car engine!

I also can't stand the salsa and evian commercials. The evian one just bothers me with all the flying/swimming babies.

I have to change the channel when the evian commercial comes on...its just not right!!!

The new commercial that totally freaks me out is i think for "kibbles and bits" or sometype of dog food or dog treat, where all there are all these dogs walking up right on their hind legs and some have sweaters on. Who thought this was a good idea???

Also, the new radio snapple commercials where the guy makes up the snapple songs....ugh!!! so annoying!

This one's funny but at the same gross....because it could actually happen....(don'tcha just hate that)

The two dudes are in a little restaurant and they're looking thorugh the menu's and they realize that the menu's smell. They smell the menus and they cant figure out why they smell so horrid. The waitress then comes up and takes their orders and sticks the menu's in her armpit to hold them as she walks away......eww

I like those commercials. I am always in aww when I see them. maybe its because I don't smoke. hmmmmmm???

jojapeach 06-28-2002 09:03 AM

I'm glad I have the privelege of not seeing those Evian and salsa commercials. Since Evian tastes like dirt to me, they couldn't do anything to make me buy it.

The commercial that current bothers me are the Snuggle commercials. Before, Snuggle was cute and looked cuddly. Now, they put him up against a porcupine and he's all smug and he blinks his eyes! His voice is a little deeper, but the blinking bothers me. Teddy bears don't have eyelids! I'm being goofy, but I'm serious.

LOL, yeah, if you smoke I imagine they might be a lil scary!!

And the belly buttons were a little much, but creative.

What about the Venus razor commercial? When I first heard I wasn't really watching it, just heard it in my perifreal *sp* hearing, and I though they said "I'm you're penis, I'm your fire, your desire" and I thought it was some kinda sex thing LOL.

I can't watch that commercial where that guy goes into the convenience store eating that burger and swills MOUTHWASH to wash it down. That is simply repulsive. I know it's filled with water, but christ, that makes me not want to eat the damn burger EVER.

EagleChick19 07-12-2002 07:38 AM

Who would ever use babies to advertise for water? Those Evian ads are a little freaky...with all of them flip-flopping through the water! WEIRD!

maggieaxid 07-12-2002 09:12 AM

i have decided i don't like any ice tea commercials....

the snapple bottles totally freak me out. they have no faces and klang together.

the one with the snowman, which i think is nestea or something....ugh! that snowman is scary!

and the snapple commercials on the radio where the kid makes up the jingles....i have to turn the channel!

DWAlphaGam 07-12-2002 09:28 AM

I agree about the Nestea commercials...especially the new one with the snowman in the dryer. I do not want to buy Nestea anymore. The Mike's commercials are really scary, too, and if I could drink that stuff (I had baaaaad experiences with Mike's :(), I would not buy it anymore, either.

I think the Snapple radio commercials are kind of amusing. The best radio ads are the Sobe ones with the guy with the accent. They are hysterical (especially the one where he says he yelled at the "little monkey cat"). Now, they make me want to go out and buy their product. :)

One of my friends went to France recently, and said that the Evian commercials are very unedited compared to here. She said that it was a little disturbing getting full frontal nudity of little baby boys floating around in the water!

As for commercials that freak me out, you all covered most of the bases, belly buttons, Mikes Hard whatever, salsa - gross!

JMUduke 07-12-2002 11:38 AM

i hate that Mikes Hard Lemonade comercial, it is AWFUL. No way would I see that and be inspired to buy alcohol...well maybe if it was just to get drunk so I could forget I ever saw the commercial...

On the other hand, I am beginning to seriously dislike very very sappy commericials, because everytime I see them I have the urge to cry, and I am not a sentimental person! I am cynical and sarcastic, so any commercial that brings up deep emotions must be bad...

hmm...i wonder 07-12-2002 11:47 AM

I love the truth.com ads. My mother is a smoker and I wish she would get inspired by them. A friend of mine died from lung cancer--he was a chain smoker.
