MY music video pet peeves are:

1. Everyone TRYING to sport BRAIDS. What ever happened to a regular, clean-cut fade?

2. Dre (from OUTKAST) and his ABSOLUTELY STUPID outfits. Some of those get-ups make me kinda wonder about him.

3. Lil' Bow Wow (with is GROWN a**). Why does he have those grown women in his video? I don't care HOW much money he makes, he's STILL a KID!

4. Oh yeah, I can't stand those girls in the videos with all their stuff hanging out either. I thought that the world was WAY past that by now. But I guess not, right?

Let me sit back and think of a few more....

I, too, hate interludes...I would rather have a 10 song album with no interludes than a 17 track piece of litter with only half of them songs.

Everybody and their mother being featured on every song. Hello, can we get either a group effort or a solo one?

When artists adlib more than they sing actual verses. Sometimes this is cool, like Jag's "Self Love," but when it is mindless droning over the never-ending chorus for like 3 minutes to end the song, it is a bit much.

I hate when artists come on the beginning of the song and talk. "Yo, check this out, feel me, I'm about to hip y'all, I'm saying though, this is a true story, where my dawgs at, no doubt, one time, y'all ready? Verse one..." JUST GO!

There must be more, I am sure I will be back...

Also, I am so tired of looking at the jeans pulled down to these rappers knees. PULL YOUR DAMN PANTS UP!! I DO NOT WANNA SEE YOUR DRAWS...
If those rappers only knew the origin of the pants hanging down, most of them would stop.

Perhaps not. Quite a few of them have already been there (or are on the way there).

What's irritating me so is...

these new female artists/groups who still can't sing. Their appearance and performance skills are making them, not their vocals. There are only a few REAL talented female singers out there.

the little teeny bopper groups are taking over. I like older performers.

P. Ditty- And his remix of a remix of a remix (I Need a Girl Part 1, 2, and 3) I mean get over it.

Ashanti and her little wiggle shake, grab my hair dance.

New artist Khia her video is so stank, she need to have somebody show her how to wear a bra.

I can go on and on!

Toni Braxton's newest CD is NOTHING like her debut CD and sophomore effort. Those 2 CDs were the bomb.

Speaking of her CD, finally listened to it last night and quite frankly, I was soooooooo unimpressed. It was ho hum. Toni also is on the newest kick of an R&B singer having a rapper rap on her song. It works for some songs NOT ALL. Toni Braxton in my eyes is a high caliber music act along the lines of Anita Baker and Patti LaBelle, but the aforementioned songs suck. I need her to go back to Babyface and sad ballads.

Anyway I hope that Patti, Anita, The Temptations, etc. do not follow this new "trend." To insure that they do not, let me e-mail them.

Subject: Rappers Singing With You

Greetings Pioneers of the R&B Industry!! I just wanted to send you an e-mail asking you please do not get caught up in the R&B artist featuring a rapper on a single madness. Contrary to popular, uninformed belief it does not always make a hit record.

I never want to hear Patti singing "You Are My Friend" like this:

**musical background*
You aaaare my friend
I never knew it til now
My friend
My friend
You are my friend
You might not say a word. .. .

NELLY: YEAH you are my friend when it gets HOT IN HERRRRE and I need a pur of Air Force Ones while I am out E I E I Oing. . .

Patti if you EVER EVER EVER do anything like the above, I might have to revoke your CLASS ACT award.

Also before I go let me offer another piece of free advice: Just say no to Rodney Jerkins. He means well and he has some talent but that mofo should stop saying Darkchild and having those computerized beats that sound like they belong on Star Wars' Trek in the 2001 Odyssey.

Oh and on your next CD, can I have a shout out? :p

RedefinedDiva 01-22-2003 09:32 PM

I can't stand when a CD has 12 track on it! Let alone that you can pay the same price for a CD that has 20 tracks on it (of course, this includes those damned interludes). But the DISGUSTING part about it is when 6 of those 12 tracks are the real songs and the other six are remixes to the songs.

For example, even though it is a double CD, that Whitney greatest hits CD that came out a few years back had hits on the first disc, but the second had the Motown remix, the Smitty Smith Crazy Mix, the DJ Psycho Sick Mix, the Crackhead Crunk remix, etc. Keep that isht to yourself!

Ok...Here It Go!

I have been seeing some things lately that have really got on my nerves as far as the music industry goes. Wrote a list about....wanna hear it, here it go (member dude on In Living Color??..heehee)

1. EVERYTHING THAT HAS ANYTHING TO DO WITH JA RULE
AND ASHANTI!!
 enough is enough..damn...go
home!
2. P Diddy puttin all those WOMEN in them lil boyz video, they aint
have no grown women in their video till then.
3. HALF NAKED WOMEN ON THESE VIDEOS..and not enough half
naked men.....heehee;)
4. The lack of real talent in the singers of today
5. When I am burning a CD and when I finish it....half the songs
have that ANNOYING DJ in the beginning..giving shout outs
6. When J-Lo and P Diddy kept having conversations about their
relationship through their songs. He did one then she did
one..back and forth..stop!
7. The number of young No Limit rappers with "lil" in their
names......that is soooo over.
8. I am mad that No Limit, Baby, Lil Wayne, and Manie Fresh are
some of the UGLIEST guys on earth.
9. Do they know that by bringing TQ in there.....he makes them
look uglier than they are..and that's NOT good at all
10. Where are the singers?? Where are Maxwell, Lauryn Hill,
De'Angelo, Mint Condition, COME BACK SOON!!!!
11. Why is EVERY video have the same concept?? Is Missy the
only one that can be original?? seems that way....
12. OH YEAH...DID I MENTION...EVERYTHING THAT HAS ANYTHING TO DO WITH JA RULE AND ASHANTI:mad:
