I haven't really been a part of any discussions about this Gamma Chi thing, but I honestly see no point in it. New member ceremony? Wearing GC letters? This is just a forum, not a fraternity/sorority. #4.

#4 or like someone else said, make it its own forum.

Glitter650 05-08-2002 01:16 PM

I say #2.... and BTW... just wondering of the people voting for #4 were ever interested in the first place... because if you just aren't interested at all... don't join... IMO...the only reason not go move on would be if people who were interested aren't anymore for whatever reason :D But I do think we should start a Gamma Chi Forum that way.. no one would have to see threads about GC if they didn't want to and we wouldn't have to have all the different discussions on the "an idea" thread :)

As for whoever put that last post up about not putting your opinion, check on it Glitter.

Well obviously, I am going to drop my two cents in, honestly, those who say #4 are the ones who really aren't interested or weren't interested in the beginning. So really the vote is somewhat bias, if you ask the people who actually wanted to participate(like the people on the alpha list) then I think it would make more of a differance. The people on the Alpha list are the people who are doing the work, the people who are on the committee's. So no offense to those who weren't involved in the beginning, but those who are involed their opinions matter more for the fact they are the ones putting the effort in.and they are the ones who need to know whether to continue their efforts or not. Just a thought ya think :D
Oh yea my vote hmm 2 or 3

Although I understand what you and Glitter650 are saying, I think that the GCers who aren't interested in Gamma Chi have as much right to voice their opinion about it and have their vote included as those who are. The reason is because the whole Gamma Chi issue seems to be stirring up quite a few problems here on GC and has been the cause for several arguments -- so we're having to deal with all the drama whether we've chosen to "join" Gamma Chi or not. :(

Quite frankly, I'm beginning to wish the whole thing had never gotten off the ground because it seems like GreekChat was a much happier place before all the controversy started. Don't get me wrong -- I think that the whole Gamma Chi idea was originally clever and cute, but the concept of making it a real GLO is kind of far-fetched to me. Rituals and new member classes for a bunch of people who have never even met each other -- who don't even know what each other looks like??? It just seems a little strange in my book, especially since most of the people who are getting so excited about GX have their own organizations that would probably love to have that kind of excitement directed towards them.

At first, I was thinking "live and let live" and had decided not to add my .02 to the issue. However, I feel like something needs to be said now that so much in-fighting has been going on -- and that's why I voted for #4.

2/3 if someone is willing to help (and I will make time to help) come up with clear cut vision. No ceremonies, rituals or membership requirements. Otherwise, If a majority say 4, than 4-it. :)

My apologies if any thing I posted, offended.
