What Does PNM Stand For?
I'm a new initiate of Pi Beta phi. I guess I haven't heard all the terms yet, but I was wondering what PNM stood for.

I'll be rushing from the other side for the first time this coming fall, too! Any of you that remember my posts as a PNM (before they all got erased!) know that my rush experience was one of the hardest, most nerve-wracking weeks of my life! I was so equally torn between two houses, and in the end not even sure if I had made the right choice. I was the VERY last PNM to sign her bid card, and, full of uncertainty, I handed it in with tears in my eyes.
Well.... I have been an initiated sister of Phi Mu since the end of October, and I must say that marking that bid card the way I did on the last day of rush is the BEST decision I have made in my life. I have met my best friends and future bridesmaids; my joys have been multiplied and my sorrows divided. I hope that during rush I'll be able to share my love for my sorority with the PNM's and just let it shine through. Maybe I will be able to show that one torn and uncertain rushee that she is indeed in the right place for her. Nonetheless, I'm anxious, nervous, and excited about the whole recruitment process. I've learned so much from the workshops and I'm ready to meet all these new girls! |
I can't wait to go through rush for the first time on the other side:D I'm getting so excited about our future sisters! I have a few friends going through rush and I'm dying to see where they'll end up! I also can't wait to be a big sis for the first time.

Well although this was originally a sorority post...
I'm also going through rush "on the other side" for the first time this summer. Unfortunetly my summer job is taking me another 3 hours away from campus (in addition to the original three from home to school...so I'm practically 6 hours away). That means that I'll only get to go to one summer rush event...but I've already been calling one potential rushee from my HS to see if he's interested. It will be very strange to be a rusher rather than a rushee, and even stranger when we actually have pledges! But I'm looking forward to it... |
I have never been thru formal rush as a PNM (I rushed Spring informal) so I am a little nervous. I am excited and I know we will have to rush hard to get girls since so few go thru formal.
