Brook,

Big job.

Delta Tau Delta was founded at Bethany College, Virginia (now West Virginia). Flower is the Purple Iris. Technically, the colors are Royal Purple, Gold and White.

Adopt-A-School is the philanthropy.

And sorry but the Fuzzies will always be the Fuzzies to me.

The magazine for Chi Omega is The Eleusis.

Jen - did you get my e-mail?

33girl 07-29-2001 06:56 PM

OK then here is the info I sent!

ASA's symbol - a few chapters in the midwest use the apple but it isn't "official" or used on any sort of national basis. Our 4 insignia (this would be the symbol) are the star, the crown, the palm tree and the Phoenix. Also we have a second national philanthropy, the S. June Smith Center.

AST usually goes by Alpha Tau or Tau's. I have never heard them called Alpha Sig. Probably because ASA and AST are on a lot of the same campuses and it would be way too confusing. Also their mascot is the Tau Tiger.

Sigma Phi Epsilon
Flowers: Violet and Dark red Rose
They also have a publication that I think is called SigEp.
Their symbol is the founder's badge

Looks like a great project, nice job on all your work!

I love the page; it's nice to have so much information right at hand! The only information about Delta Zeta that you listed incorrectly is our place of founding. We were founded at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif

Delta Sigma Phi
Nicknames: DSP or Delta Sig
Founded: Dec 10, 1899 at the City College of NY.

I know I have seen the magazine laying around the dorms of my buddies. I'll get back to you.

The DSP magazine is called the "Carnation" and I believe that the mascot is either the Sphynx or the Snake.

Great work on this!

BTW, AXO was founded on October 15th (not 18th)...

Sure, why not? http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif The lion is on our crest, and the Pearl is on every badge. Also, our "official" Founder's day is March 22, 1913, even though they say the "first step" in forming the fraternity was Nov. 2 1909...

Hey a few Small corrections!
Sigma Nu's philanthropy is Chilhelp USA, not the American society for retarded citizens. And their mascot is the Knight.

SAE's symbol is the Lion and the Phoenix.
and their mascot is the Lion.

and Sigma Kappa Sorority's colors are Only Lavender and Maroon, not white. Their nicknames are Sig Kaps, Sigma K, and Snakey K, not "snakes"- that sounds like a gang! Also the mascot is the dove, and symbols are the heart and the dove.

AGDAlum 07-31-2001 02:25 PM

Alpha Gamma Delta's philanthropy is the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation. (Every GLO has a foundation of its through to administer contributions to the chosen philanthropy and for scholarships and programs for members.)
