Don't waste time concerning yourselves with the Machine, they are an old literary society trying to return to the college scene. Goodluck to them, but it's gonna be tough the way things are now. If you're interested in them, give the national office a call, unless your by-laws prohibit double membership, you can join or start up a chapter with them. I'm not a member but I had an interest once and then they disappeared. It's better to concentrate on making your own houses bigger and better.

"RUgreek", very well said. You beat me to it.
I have spent a lot of time studying TNE, and before you get too riled up over them, please realize that rumor, mischief and misinformation are all part of the character of their group. This character, combined with their extremely splintered history and long term lack of centralized government, results in a group whose image far exceeds its substance. wptw |
I could sense a hint of desperation in the website. Not really natural for a secret society to have a website, is it?
|
Quite frankly, what secret society would even have a webpage up and lists their chapters?
|
In my readings about ONE (maybe their rush shirts could be a rip of pepsi onebut with a theta not an o. I digress) it sounded like they were kind of like an order of omega. hhmm??

There's a new website
There is a new website for Theta Nu Epsilon that is run by the Alpha Chapter at Wesleyan university. It's pretty interesting www.theamericanminerva.com/thetanuepsilon
|
Looks like they went through a lot of trouble to create this site. I find it hard to believe that they have around 350 chapters when some open honorary societies do not have that many chapters. I wouldn't buy it, but I commend them on the hard work on developing the site.
|
I find it a little odd that the "members" link is actually linked to a french error page. It's not like the internet could not find the link, it purposefully links to the error page.
Also, this site is from a literary site for the campus honor society. It just looks like some from the group wanted to have some fun. |
Theta Nu Epsilon
I don't know if a thread on Theta Nu Epsilon would be
appropriate here or not, since, while it is a college society, it is not a four-year residential fraternity or sorority. It is over 135 years old and has had chapters at most every major college and university. If anyone has heard of it, had seen it in their university yearbooks, & c. I'd be happy to answer any questions as I can. http://theamericanminerva.com/thetanuepsilon/ |
First, there are many threads on this organization. Do a search.
Second, from the content of those threads, I can assure you many people that have had contact with your organization are not particularly fond of it. Third, this thread is more appropriate in Greek Life were it not for the threads already present. |

First, I did a search. I came up with "The search term you specified (nu) is under the minimum word length (4) and therefore will not be found. Please make this term longer. If this term contains a wildcard, please make this term more specific." I found this unproductive. Second, I do not believe that that is the case. Third, this seemed to be the most general place to ask a question. Thank you so very much for your help and consideration. |
Your webpage is very nice. You all look like a bundle of fun.
