I've been having good luck with jjill lately. I'm one of those in between plus size and regular size and their current fashions are geared for a slightly "looser" fit, but it's not a sloppy look. Luckily we are very casual at my office, don't know what I'd do if I had to dress super professional -- I'd need a good tailor. Or it might be the motivation I need to lose some weight!

I have so, so many clothing issues. I'm a tall lady with an athletic build. I'm not plus size proportions, but I'm on that super awkward straight sizes/plus sizes line, where I can't shop in many stores. It's the pits.
That said, I've recently given up on pants. I'm just so flipping over trying to buy pants that have a high enough rise, that can fit my runner thighs in, and also be long enough to not look like Steve Erkle. So, dresses and skirts, to the fore. I've had amazing luck at Talbots. It might be that their demographic skews a bit older, therefore I can get a longer skirt and a better fit in the bust? I bought this dress recently, and it has been a total winner. I also got a grey wool suit dress on super clearance a few months ago and a polka dot shirt dress, both of which I get a ton of compliments on? I've also, weirdly, had good luck in the Lands End section of Sears. The pants and tops are a no go for me (they fit oddly) but the dresses, skirts, and a swim suit I just bought have been amazing. |
