My paddle collection. I have 10 of them from my sorority daughter(s)to ones that even say "To Great Grams Sue"! They always remind me of my beautiful Chi Omega family!

I cannot agree more than with all of the Brothers who came after me and are still Brothers!
The two most cherished material items are My Beta Chi Badge and pledge button from when I started the local (only to sets exist, mine and at International Office), and My Badge which they do not make anymore. Both because of the time, sweat, tears and love I have for both Groups! Separately but all in one! ------------------ Tom Earp LX Z#1 Pittsburg State U. (Kansas) |
My XO scrapbook. I separated all the Chi Omega and fraternity party pics from college into one book and decorated it. All in one place I have four years of wonderful memories that make me feel all warm and fuzzy each time I look at it.
my other favorite is my pledge sister michelle. Not really a posession, of course, but still something Chi O gave me that I could not do without. She laughs when she tells the story of how I called her over break spophomore year at her dad's house and she couldn't figure out why--and I always say, because silly, I liked you, why do you find that so hard to believe. We've been the best of friends for 12 years. Which brings me back to the scrapbook and my mom's comment when she looked at it recently-- "Jeez Amy, every picture practically is you and Michelle." http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/biggrin.gif Amy |

what a small world...i probably know who your friend is...our chapter (Xi) was chartered by Gamma chapter (NIU), and my whole line pledged along the recently crossed line of APL at Northern. |
1. The gifts my mother presented to me AFTER she pinned me.
2. The AKA Signet (with the shield in the middle, AKA on the side and 1908 on the other) ring I purchased as a gift to myself after I graduated from Grad school. 3. The crafts my late aunt made for me right after I crossed. She passed a couple of years after I crossed and with her sudden death, those were the only items I had "left" from her. 4. The scrapbook my sister made me where I kept my pictures from many Sorority events as an undergrad, even our probate. Sorry, more than 1 most treasured possession. |
bright idea for a topic
my fav possession is a paddle that has been handed down form pledge dad to son for for the last 20 some odd years, and when i graduate i'm going to sign it and give it to my pledge son and keep the tradition alive Delta Upsilon Expect Nothing Less |
Oh Soror... those are truly precious gifts indeed!
So far, my most precious sorority possession is my Zeta pin, but I have some items that my niece gave me after I crossed. She later went on to pledge a different sorority, so it meant even more that she could put her affiliation aside and buy gifts that would mean a great deal to me. Quote:

I would say that my most treasured Greek possession would be an engraved charm that my (non-Greek) mother had made for me when I crossed.
Running a close race would be my Sorority Pin and 'pledge' pin both of which I have treasured since I received them in the fall of 1986. I also have a very special momento of my 'crossing' that I hold very dear http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/wink.gif ------------------ MCCOYRED Mu Psi '86 BaltCo Alumnae Dynamic...Salient...Temperate...Since 1913 |
I have two. My first one was made by my "spec" for me. It's a green blanket that she decorated with paint. It has ivy leaves, the letters, my name, and my crossing date. I love it because she spent TIME on it and it's beautiful. I LOVE IT!
My second one is my very first personalized sweatshirt. It means so much to me because my ex-boyfriend bought it for me. He knows nothing about Greek life, and didn't really like Greeks before. So it really meant a lot to me that he bought that for me. And we WEREN'T together when he bought it! Ok, I guess I have three. LOL. My Founder's Paddle. Need I say more? http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/wink.gif |
Right now, my most prized Alpha Chi item is the sweatshirt that my adopted big (long story) gave me on the day she graduated. It's the shirt her big gave her and she always wore it to rope pull. This year we were both on the team and we won (woohoo!!! http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif ), so she gave it to me to wear next year, even though I wear it all the time. Hopefully I'll get a little sis to pass it down to, otherwise it's going to go to my twin's little who was on rope pull too.

This has to be...one of my pledge sisters, who helped me through so much at college - without her friendship I simply would not have made it through my second year, simple as that!
#2 would be my badge. It would be #1, but I just re-read this and thought "no, you can replace a badge....but you cannot replace a person who actually made a difference in your life (sniff, sniff!)" So here's to you, Carla!!! Can't wait to see you when I'm at home this Christmas.... |
ambicion =), what school do u go to? email me if u want at princess_chunli@hotmail.com.

I love my lavalier, but my sisters are my most prized possession, and when I lose one to graduation or de-activation, it really sucks.

My most treasured possession is this sign that my step-dad made for me out of wood with AGD engraved on it and Alpha Gamma Delta spelled out under it. It means a lot to me b/c he went out of his way to make it and he really doesn't know more about than what he has seen on TV and what I have told him about greeklife. So, he made it simply b/c he knew how much AGD meant to me and how nice it would be to have something that he made for me. I have to have it up no matter where I am living. My first year in, I lived in the house and we weren't allowed to have letters up b/c of our landlord, so we put them in the window so that we could have letters
