I don't like having a lot of clutter, so most of the things I collect I also can use:
  • Books : of favorite authors, or favorite stories, or collections, etc... all stuff I will read multiple times!
  • CD's I thought I had a lot of CD's (roughtly 200 now).. until I met my boyfriend, who has literally over nearly 1,100!
  • DVD's : Since I love movies and got a DVD player last Christmas I've been collecting DVD's... lately it's been a lot of kung fu/wire fu stuff, but it depends on my mood
  • Speed Racer stuff: I love this cartoon, and have a few really cool things, like a metal sign of Racer X, my favorite character, and a small matchbox-type Star 9 (his car), as well as a "to scale" Mach 5. This is one of the few things I don't "use" but still collect.

When I was a kid, one of my mom's good friends was a missionary in Latin and South America, and he would bring home all kinds of coins from different countries. I have a small collection of foreign coins including those and some from when I finally got to travel abroad myself. I don't really keep up with it, just something I have as more of a memorabilia thing.

I really like turtles, so I have quite a few turtle things (stuffed animals, jewelry, etc.) that friends have given me, but I don't really collect them.

CD's and shot glasses. My juinor year in highschool, my date's best friend's date said he collected salt shakers from restaurants. He stole them. I saw him about a year later at the movie theater. He was still dumb.

Butterflies- I love them and think they are so beautiful, but I will not ever get the real thing.. I think they are more beautiful in nature.

Shot Glasses- I don't buy them off ebay or anything, but only collect ones from special places I or my friends have been.. it makes it a little slower, but it they just mean more that way.

Artwork- I go back and forth between different artist, but right now I am on a Yukie Adams kick.. she's a local northwest Indian artist who I have admired for years, and just recently got popular, so now all her stuff is so much more! (Last summer, I got to meet her and she is such a down to earth person!) I also have small pieces from local artist (mostly Native American). I just by stuff I like, not what's always popular.

I collect ladybugs! They are my absolute favorite!

I also collect postcards. Whenever I travel I collect a postcard so that someday I can make a collage and have it framed. Generally I get 5 postcards from every place I visit just so I can narrow it down later.

I also collect jewelry! LOL! I would love to own something in every birthstone. I need amethyst, emrald, peridot, opal, citrine and blue topaz. Hopefully Will will stumble upon this board and delight me with one of them in the future! ;)

Beanie Kids but I'm obsessed with frogs and princess stuff.

A lot of different themes ... I spent too much money on stuff, so maybe I should decide which of my collections are worthed?

I think I will stick with these:
- Hard Rock Cafe stuff: guitar pins
- Coca Cola cans from all over the world
You might think I'm crasy, but they all are different, as Chinese would issue a can with Chinese characters, and so would Japanese, Israel, Korea, India ... also different languages and sizes, types of cans: pull-tab, half size coke, Australian design, Mexican design with Aztec suns, etc.

*Precious Moments
*Disney Movies
*State Quarters

queequek: Have you been to the The World of Coke in Atlanta? As a collector of Coke cans, you might really enjoy it. They have a fascinating display of cans and bottles from around the world--really interesting to see the variety!

I have 100+ squirrels. That collection began at the AGD convention in 1972. One of the favors was a brass squirrel (about 3" high). It was cast from a design by founder Emily H. Butterfield. I have squirrels made from glass, fabric, wood, ceramic, and even one made from a lump of coal!

I collect vintage household linens and redwork embroidery. I'm a quilter and I love all kinds of textiles.

When I go to thrift shops I look for Greek-letter glassware and other GLO souvenirs. One of these days I'll take the plunge and start selling on eBay. (I have already figured out how to buy on eBay!)
