If people didn't give advice, it's because how much your class status matters varies widely from school to school. I would have said what I said if you were a freshman, sophomore,.junior or senior.
I hope you're just using GC as a word vomit repository and have been more gracious in real life. |
Revanluv,
What is seen as bottom tier at one campus may be perceived as top tier at another campus. Further, despite the catty talk on a local campus, some sororities are well-regarded on a regional and national scale. For example, my sorority, Gamma Phi Beta, has a very strong reputation on the west coast. Between us (18 chapters), Kappa Alpha Theta (18) and Alpha Phi (23 chapters), we pretty much own California. (That's in addition to being strong on a national scale.) A wonderful sorority extended it's hand of friendship to you. Grow where you're planted. |

Be the sort of person that makes people rethink their impression about your chapter. As someone who holds/has held leadership positions on campus, you are in a position to do that. And realize that your sorority is more than your chapter. Your sorority has a proud national reputation that you are now a part of. Tiers are ephemeral and can change over time. I saw one chapter at my alma mater go from the bottom to the top over many years. Appreciate what you have today, work hard, and let the future take care of itself. |
