Yup - www.trikappa.org

"Tri Kappa is a unique philanthropic organization because it exists only within the boundaries of the state of Indiana. The organization was founded in 1901 in Indianapolis by a group of seven young ladies at the Girls' Classical School founded by May Wright Sewall. Each was to begin a chapter in her hometown. From these humble beginnings, Tri Kappa has thrived to 148 active chapters and 131 associate chapters with almost 11,000 members."

Really? Then that would explain the comment my dad made one time when I was griping about how my sorority fines too much--he said, "Well, if you don't like that one, then quit and join another one." I was like, "Ahhh...that's a little illegal, don't you think?" I thought a former fraternity member would know that you couldn't do that, but maybe the rules were different when he was in school.

Okay, in their defense, I took a little look at the website. As far as I could tell, they do not abbreviate themselves as KKK anywhere that I could find. Even their badge spells out "kappa" three times, and they use tri-kappa for short.

And Indiana isn't really known as a hotbed of the Ku Klux Klan ... still, that's an unfortunate name. They probably go out of their way NOT to be called KKK!
