sigmagrrl is right, we are not co-ed. We do our Pledge Puddle Pull philanthropy with Gamma Phi Beta each year. We only raised a little over $1000 this year, but since we did it a different weekend than usual a lot of other chapters had things going on, like formals and such, so they couldn't participate. There is an entry fee for each team which is where we get the money to then donate to an organization, like Big Brothers Big Sisters (who we gave it to this year).

To bring this thread back to the "non-secret" topic: actually, ALL the groups we are talking about are non-secret! No effort is made to hide the existence of any of these groups.

There have been times when fraternities had to go "sub rosa," when college administrations did not approve of them. IMO at that point they become secret.

What is secret for most groups is the ritual. DU is a signficant exception, and as Brian has pointed out they've done just fine.

OTOH, Beta Sigma Phi's existence is not a secret but its rituals are.

By non-secret we are referring to no secret rituals, words, grips or handshakes.
